I got this since I'm a die hard fan. However, it's just the regular cd with extra track in a card board box. Oh yeah, a bag of candies worth 50 cents. The booklet is lame too. I hope her new record label would put out better limited edition for her next CD because Warner's lame!Free Music Review: Pricey

Okay, first off I am a HUGE Madonna fan and it kills me to write a not so wonderful review for "Hard Candy". I mean it is Madonna so I had to buy it , but after the most flawless CD of her glorious career "Confessions On A Dancefloor" why did she go in this direction ? I know ... I know Madonna re-invents herself for each new album , but the beats are so flat , un-Madonna like and it just gives you the feeling she really didn't give it her all or even 50% of her all for this album. I mean I know this was her last album on the Warner Brothers label , but come on Madonna you almost made this a Justin Timberlake / Timabaland / Kane West / Pharrel Williams album with you as a guest vocalist. I know Madonna wants to hit the charts hard this time round because even though "Confessions" was her best album to date it didn't get the radio play it so highly deserved. Madonna may be 50 this year , but her genious in itself will never die out because she rules the dance / pop charts and will until her last day on earth ! Madonna is and always will be the Queen of Pop and she will always be a money maker in the music industry. I mean she does have some fantastic songs on this album like "Dance 2Night" it is by far my favorite track the next being "Devil Wouldn't Recognize You" because it is simply amazing !!!! I also very much like "Give It 2 Me" , "Miles Away" and "Heartbeat" , but the rest of the album is too flat and really makes one lose interest quickly and for a Madonna die hard fan since 1983 to say that ... it is heart breaking !!! I did buy the album , will buy any CD single that will see a release date off this album and have a ticket to see her in Chicago in October because no one puts together on a show like Madonna , but I pray her next album will gear more toward "Madonna" , "True Blue" or "Confessions On A Dancefloor" because that to me was when Madonna truly ruled the world and our hearts. too much hype for this cd. madonna is a good entertainer! it will be great to see her perform some of these songs on the stage.
but, as a whole the cd wasn't all that it was suppose to be.
i did not jump out of my seat and want to dance!
to me, her first cd, madonna was a better dance cd, than this.
even her cd, music, was a better in the techno, dance area.
so, i would not recommend purchasing the special edition, it is just the cd with 2 short different versions of 4 minutes and you get a box of hard candy! not worth the price.

What can I say? You either love her or you hate her. I am sorry to say, but on this one, she missed the mark completely. I miss the Madonna that actually had a message in her albums. Erotica, Ray of Light, Bedtime Stories (my fave). These albums all said something. This album, does have one message and it does say one thing..."GIVE ME YOUR MONEY". That's it. Its over produced, dated, and just plain bad. What the hell happened to her? I mean, Confessions.. was good, but this, not even close. I miss Mistress Dita, please bring that Madonna back!
