This is really bad. Madonna spends her time preaching to us what many of us already know. We all asked questions on why we are here. We all know that material things is not the path to enlightment. We all know that are more important things in life than our ego, pride, and etc. We all know the conflict in the Middle East needs to stop. But Madonna does not give her fans any credit for knowing these things. There are artists who truly tries to make the world a better place with their work (both professionally and personally), but Madonna is not one of those artists. This boring documentary's purpose is to promote Kabbalah and to show her as a proper British lady. It doesn't matter because it all comes across as pretentious. The concert portion is what you really want and what saves this dvd from failure.
As for the cd, I enjoyed it more except for the fact that she is lipsynching on some or most of the songs. She is singing live on "Lament" and the tone and power of her voice will give you goose bumps. When Madonna feels a song, she is capable of selling that song just as any of the powerhouse female vocalists. Another plus is the rock demo version of "I Love New York". It is better than the version on Confession, which is probably why Madonna decided to include the song in this collection.
If you are a Madonna fan, make the investment to buy this dvd/cd combo, but be warned that Madonna's secrets are nothing special.
