Free Music Notes for Something to RememberFree Music Review: Gorgeous Hit: 5 StarsAll ballads on tis compilation are diffrent. It shows the variation of Madonna! Sometime she sings low and soft while other times her voice could break your windows of highness! Each ballad is something to remmeber, the name suits the compilation well!
Free Music Review: The only Madonna album worth having Hit: 5 StarsI'm not a Madonna fan. Most of her movies suck (except the ones where she plays sidekick to someone else, like A League of Their Own or Desperately Seeking Susan), her dance music makes me wretch, and her tendency towards following fads annoys the bejebus out of me.
But when she performs soft mellow songs, like the ones collected on this album from many of her past albums and soundtrack contributions, she's great.
That's why this is the ONLY Madonna album I will not only ever own, but publically admit to owning.
Well, OK there are a few songs on Ray of light, which came after this album that I liked, but I don't own that album, I just illegally downloaded those few songs off Napster. (Just kidding RIAA!)
Free Music Review: Madonna is so much better than Mariah or Celine!!!!!! Hit: 5 StarsMadonna doesn't ruin her flawless ballads by over-singing.
I Want You- in my opinion, this Marvin Gaye remake is just as sexy as "Erotica" or "Where Life Begins", but not as explicit.
I'll Remember- beautiful, nostalgic ballad. Makes me think of my grandmother.
Take A Bow- Madonna's masterpiece. Awe-arousing lyrics, a haunting rhythm, and Madonn's eerie voice.
You'll See- Madonna shines! This is a girl-power song.
Crazy For You- utterly romantic. Makes me think of my boyfriend.
This Used To Be My Playground- another nostalgic song. Madonna's voice sounds amazing.
Live To Tell- very eerie and can be interpreted several ways.
Love Don't Leave Here Anymore- Madonna shows she can truly sing!
Something to Remember- this song is so sad! Madonna is very emotional.
Forbidden Love- very sexy. Another Babyface collaboration.
One More Chance- country-inflected. Who can't relate to this song?
Rain- another sexy song, but it's also very classy.
Oh Father- this is gonna make you cry! I love this one!
I Want You- basically a re-hash of the first track.
MADONNA, I LOVE YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Free Music Review: Something to Remember (1995) Hit: 5 Stars-Something to Remember (1995)-
Released back in 1995, one year after Madonna released "Bedtime Stories", she decided to release a collection of some of her greatest ballads, and many people looked at it as an attempt for her to win back some of the fans she lost during the sex controversy. Whatever her intentions were, the album peaked at #6 in the US, and managed to sell about 3 million copies, which is more than both "Erotica" and "Bedtime Stories". The album has songs like "I'll Remember", one of her best ballads, which was the theme song from the movie "With Honors", and was a big hit for her, peaking at #2 in the US, and "This Used to Be My Playgroud", another great ballad, which was featured in the movie "A League of Their Own", was a #1 hit for Madonna. Madonna also made 4 new songs for the album. "I Want You", a very haunting and beautiful techo ballad, wasn't released as a single, but had a video, "You'll See", kind of like the sequel to Take a Bow, an amazing song, peaked at #6 in the US, "One More Chance", a good acoustic ballad, wasn't released in the US, but peaked at #11 in the UK, and "I Want You [Orchestral]", which is the same as "I Want You", except the techno sounds have been removed.

Since I've reviewed most of these songs already, I'll give their chart stats instead. "I'll Remember" (#2), "Take a Bow" (#1 for 7 weeks), "You'll See" (#6), "Crazy for You" (#1 for 1 week), "This Used to Be My Playground" (#1 for 1 week), "Live to Tell" (#1 for 1 week), "Love Don't Live Here Anymore" (#78), "One More Chance" (wasn't released in the US, but hit #11 in the UK), "Rain" (#14), and "Oh Father" (#20). Also, I really love the remix of "Love Don't Live Here Anymore". I actually prefer it to the original. All in all, a great compilation of some of Madonna's best ballads.
