Free Music Review: True Blue is True Pop
Hit: 5 Stars

This album is one of Madonna's finest pieces of work. Albums of this quality are rare. From the opening moments of "Papa Don't Preach" to the final lyrics of "La Isla Bonita", this album delights. Each song desreves futher comments:
Papa Don't Preach: also a great song, controversial for the time, and Kelly Osbourne (yuck) couldn't hold a candle to Madonna's version
Open Your Heart: one of my favorite Madonna songs, the music is great, too good for words
White Heat: Never released as a single, but some of the best "filler" on any album. You'll never skip over it.
Live To Tell: a beautiful, haunting song, one that stands the test of time
Where's The Party: a great, fun song that gives levity to the album.
True Blue: one of my favorites, the beat and lyrics are great.
La Isla Bonita: this is the last great song on this album. it has a nice Latin beat
Jimmy Jimmy: I think the repetition and music makes this song annoying and skippable
Love Makes The World Go Round: good message and nice music, but still not one of my favorites
I have the Remastered version of this album, which includes two great remixes: True Blue and La Isla Bonita.
This is a great album, a must have for all Madonna fans and a definitive pop album. I'd give it ten stars if I could.

Free Music Review: A classic Madonna cd and pop cd.
Hit: 5 Stars

This cd is definitialy the best Madonna album to date. After a disappointing album "Music" which I am not waisting my time to review, this shows Madonnas true talent. The song "True Blue" is a catchy and original song, the lyrics is average love song, but the music is funny. I loved this as a little kid:) although "Like a Prayer" was the song that got me into her. Anyway many people will notice that "Live to tell" show a deeper side of her, and was probably the first time she wrote deep lyrics. I am not sure what Madonna mean with this song, but it is definitaly a great one, musicially its a ballad. ( "Pappa dont preach" is awesome too, it beginnns with beautiful violins combinied with pop. Open you heart is another pop classic, wich isnt that great lyricially, but the music video is too funny, and the music is great too, but I feel that I have grown away from it. One of the best Madonna songs ever is without a doubt "La Isla Bonita" and now when I recentley begun liking latin music(mostly rock) its funny that this was the first latin song I begun to like. The other songs are ok, but in this case I like the singles best. I wish Madonna could go back to her old stuff. It was in the 80s that Madonna really showed the world her talent(it begun with this cd.)

Free Music Review: This album makes me feel so good!
Hit: 5 Stars

This album always makes me sooo happy; it's so innocent and fun. Madonna aka "Goddess of Music" wrote all the songs and she's an excellent songwriter!

Papa Don't Preach- I love this song but I don't know why it was so controversial. Teenagers get pregnant and contemplate abortions every day. But the beat will definitely make you dance and the lyrics are easy to sing along with.

Open Your Heart- the best track on the album and, in my opinion, Madonna's best 80s song. The gritty determination of this song defines Madonna.

White Heat- a tribute to James Cagney. Contains quotes from the movie. "C'mon make my

Live To Tell- a moody ballad, probably her best 80s ballad, but it's out of place on this album. Would of done better on "Like a Prayer", while "Cherish" would of done better here.

Where's the Party- fun track but feels very "filler".

True Blue- I love this song so much! It makes me think of my boyfriend. So innocent and fun.

La Isla Bonita- Madonna makes a convincing Latina and the lyrics are actually meaningful.

Jimmy Jimmy- a rip-off of "True Blue".

Love Makes the Would Go Round- world-peace plea. Great to dance to and probably the most meaningful track on the album.

Free Music Review: It's gotta be True Blue!
Hit: 5 Stars

I have been listening to Madonna since the very early 90's and True Blue was my very first album from her and ever since I have loved this ENTIRE album!!! I noticed that a lot of people HATE Jimmy Jimmy, I don't know why!! Jimmy Jimmy is such a cool upbeat song to dance to and it TOTALLY reminds me of a 50's or 60's girl group song!! I love it!!

My all time favorite song off this album though is the title track, True Blue. This is THE song from the 50's!! I mean the whole sound and style and singing sounds TOTALLY 50's!!! I LOVE it!!! I love the part that goes "True Love Oh Baby, True Love Oh Baby, True Love Oh Baby" Another favorite is La Isla Bonita. This is such a beautiful Spanish style ballad!! Live To Tell is a hauntingly beautiful ballad, I love it! White Heat is a cool upbeat song that has dialog and this was dedicated to Jimmy Cagney. Papa Don't Preach is another favorite upbeat song, just like Open Your Heart, they're both awesome upbeat songs! Where's The Party and Love Makes The World Go Round are awesome upbeat songs too!

There are NO bad songs on here! They're all amazing!! Especially True Blue because of the unique 50's girl group style and La Isla Bonita because of the Spanish sound to it! A MUST HAVE for Madonna fans!

Free Music Review: The most underrated Madonna album
Hit: 5 Stars

Of all Madonna's albums, "True Blue" remains the most underrated. Why? I don't know. I'm happy to see it get such high marks here.

"True Blue" proved that Madonna could change her look and sound to keep things interesting. It also proved her songwriting could take curves if she wanted it to.

Even though she didn't write "Papa Don't Preach" (except to add "additional lyrics" to it), I'll always remember the video to it (especially that great shirt proclaiming, "Italians Do It Better") as well as to "Open Your Heart" - where she played one of those women in peep shows. "La Isla Bonita" also stands out because of the video in which she dances in beautiful Spanish costume in the barrio and prays at a makeshift altar.

But my favorite track here is "Live To Tell," which was a cut written for her then-husband Sean Penn's movie, "At Close Range" (which was good). Almost 20 years later and you can still feel that foreboding in her voice that if that secret is let out, she's doomed. Besides, the melody rocks.

Her tribute to James Cagney ("White Heat") was catchy and "Where's the Party?" has become quite a party favorite (wonder why).

Solid Madonna album and a must-have (to put it mildly).
