this was not the product that i thought i was buying. i thought it was a vanessa mae cd, but it is a totally different artist. so becareful you dont get it mixed up.Free Music Review: Mae's best album yet - talk about the musical progression of a band!!!

This is Mae's newest album, and personally my favorite so far! Mae has really progressed in their musical styling since their debut album "Destination Beautiful." I enjoyed their music at first, but their latest songs are so packed with energy that it's impossible for me to say they have not progressed light years with Singularity.
Also, if you like their music on the stereo, check them out live! My wife treated me to a show where they performed in Baltimore. Man were we both blown away. They have alot of energy and they really have an edgy sound these days.

It's a good cd and I like that it is not as electronicly oriented as their first cd. I am a guitar player and dang it I like guitar so sue me for wanting to get ride of electronic stuff. Anyway a good cd but it is not as creative as their last one but I for sure dont miss the electronic stuff. I like their sound better in this cd but the lyrics are better in the old one.Free Music Review: Great album...just not a great followup to the Everglow

I love Mae. After I heard the Everglow, I bought it and listened to it on repeat, and immediately ordered Destination Beautiful. While it was easy to see that Mae had definitely improved their material with the Everglow from Destination, it is hard to see that progression.
What I want to stress is that this is a VERY GOOD album, solid, and would probably be my favorite-if it was any other band's. When it first came out, I admit, I was about to throw the CD down-this is not the Mae I love! I've given it a few months, and honestly, it's a good cd that fits along with most of the other cds I like. However, Mae was that artist that I could tell apart strictly from the beginning of the song, and the way it made me feel, whereas I couldn't possibly do that with this album.
I also agree with the other reviewer who said they needed "dance-able" songs for concerts. Recently, a friend of mine went to their concert (I couldn't go!) but they were openers and booed off the stage. Booed! So, that could definitely be part of why they want to make an album to play as a show.
