Free Music Review: Desert Island

This is one album I'd need if I were stuck on one. I remember seeing this record and the cover grabbing my attention. I'm big on cover art and sometimes buy an album based on just that. This tactic has introduced me to other great bands, like Stereolab or Neutral Milk Hotel. And the Magnetic Fields. This was my first Magnetic Fields album and has had a lot of play time. Though I appreciate their new work, my heart will always be with the classics like Get Lost, Holiday and Distant Plastic Trees. They have this youthful spirit about them that is both melancholy and dreamy. Definitely a great place to start if you're interested in the band and a must-have if you're a fan.
