Free Music Review: Aimee Mann is SO Whiney!
Hit: 1 Stars

My roommate has this album on her computer and listens to it all the time... it was okay the first few times i've heard it but now that i've heard it a million plus times, i can say one thing for certain... Aimee Mann's voice is just whiney and annoying and the music style is the same... makes me wonder if Ms. Mann shaves her armpits!

if you are brain dead enough to like Alanis Morresette or Ani DeFranco... then this album is for you!

Free Music Review: The Five Stars are for Aimee Mann
Hit: 5 Stars

If you listen to the Aimee Mann tracks only, and skip the rest (which is filler anyway), you have an excellent choice to listen to when you want something beautiful and relaxing to mellow out to. "Build That Wall" is one of those songs I listen to two or three times before skipping to the next track, and contrary to other reviewers, I prefer Mann's version of "One" over the original. She's a genius, in my opinion. If you like this cd, her "Bachelor No.2" cd is great too, especially "Red Vines". Good, good, good.

Free Music Review: Magnolia Soundtrack
Hit: 4 Stars

When I heard "Save Me" for the first time, I was blown away. I had no idea it was Aimee Mann from 'Til Tuesday. Obviously she was the music industry's best kept secret (but its really commercial pop and top 40 radio that is to blame)in 2000, and I was glad this album got the acclaim that it did. Aimee is such a great songwriter with an amazing, forlorn voice. She convinces you she can feel your pain. "One" is good, but no offense to Aimee, I've never liked anyone's cover of this song. Its just one of those songs no one can touch. Still, its an earnest effort. Each song is a story-Mann questions the possibilities of relationships and offers up her take on life without being too preachy (are you listening Lauryn Hill, Jewel?)If you're looking for fresh female empowerment, look no further than this one. I also like "Logical Song" by Supertramp, but I don't think theirs and Gabrielle's mid-90s dance hit "Dreams" belonged on here. I think Aimee should have owned the whole track list. But they each have nice qualities, so what can you do? Its a great soundtrack to add to your collection.

Free Music Review: a beuatiful piece
Hit: 5 Stars

That's an amzing CD from Magnolia movie. Just perfect, I love ALL songs from it! Especially good Save Me, One, Driving Sideways.

Free Music Review: WOW!
Hit: 5 Stars

I got this CD due to all the hype (a dangerous thing these days) and after hearing about Aimee Mann's United Musicians coalition. Talk about incredible! Aimee combines elements of rock, pop, and folk into a sound all her own. Her lyrics are simple, yet profound. They come off sounding like things that everyone has thought at some time, yet never wrote down or said because they were sure that they were the only ones. Best tracks are "Driving Sideways", "Deathly", "Wise Up", and of course, the Grammy-nominated "Save Me" with the brilliant chorus.
