Free Music Review: the soundtrack to a cult-classic

Remember grunge? No? Okay.
There are 3 types of people I have encountered. The person who hates all grunge. The person who loves all the stuff before Cobain's death, but just the stuff before his death. And then the guy that likes all grunge.
In case you haven't got the news, Mallrats is a 90s movie. Much like watching an 80s movie during the 1990s, it is quite apparent that it is a 90s movie if you watch it now. So, naturally, all the tunes come from the 90s. 2000 hadn't happened yet, so there's no post-millenium music on this disc. Sorry, that's the way timelines work.
Anyway, there's a good balance between movie quotes and rockin' 90s tunes. Mallrats is considered Smith's sophmore slump, but it's such a quotable movie, and a lot of the quotes are represented well on this disc. But more importantly are the tunes. This CD has BUSH on it. BUSH! OMG. Like when was the last time you heard Bush, it's been a while. They kind of died a few years ago. Or how about that one band Weezer. Remember when they didn't suck? Me neither, until I listened to this soundtrack.
Or how about Sponge. I know, who the hell is sponge? They have a ton of albums. Good ones. And then there's Silverchair's Stoned, one of their best songs period.
There's a ton of rocking 90's songs on this album. So if you enjoyed that era, check this out yo.
