Free Music Notes for The Mamas & the Papas - Greatest HitsFree Music Review: Old favorites Hit: 5 Stars
The Mamas & the Papas - Greatest Hits I was looking for a particular song by this group, "California Dreamin'", and am pleased with the rendition on this disc. It's a good quality recording, including 20 of their songs. Two others included are "Monday, Monday", "Dream a Little Dream of Me". I recommend the disc.
Free Music Review: GOOD JOB! Hit: 5 Stars
California Dreamin' and Monday,Monday are two reasons to get this Hits Package. T.M.A.T.P's have a groove that will last forever. Their voices blend, twist and flow straight into your heart. Michelle said in an interview,"we were not supposed to last forever, magical things are not supposed to last forever". How very sad but true. Hits Package contains a wonderful Bio of the band...enjoy!
Free Music Review: The Mama's and the Papa's greatest hits Hit: 5 Stars
An excellent compilation of hits by the Mama's and the Papa's, especially the last two songs which are two of Cass Eliots hits. Their harmonies and musical talents are really bought forth on this album. I liken this to the next step up from the folk music of the late fifties and early sixties or groups like the Kingston Trio and Peter Paul and Mary. Nothing today seems to match the magic in this CD.
Free Music Review: Brings Back the Old Days Hit: 5 Stars
I like this CD. Anyone who were fans of their's in the 60's probably will. There is the wonderful resonance of Cass Elliott that is unbeatable. Their harmony on "Monday Monday" and "California Dreaming" is as good to listen to today as it was 30 years ago. They are one of a select group from that era who transcend time. And took me back to the days when I was very young.
Free Music Review: California Dreamin' Hit: 5 Stars
They are one of my favorite 60s groups. Their music was very popular in the 60s and still is today. Songs I like are "California Dreamin'", "Monday, Monday", "Twelve Thirty (Young Girls Are Coming to the Canyon)", "Dedicated to the One I Love", "Creeque Alley", and "Words of Love". I also like The Mamas & the Papas California Dreamin' DVD which has great performances and interviews with them.
