The Mamas & the Papas have a great sound & harmony!! & the songs picked for this CD - are their BEST!! It's a "throw back" to the 60' ( & '70's). But you know what they say: "if you can remember the 60's...you weren't there!!" It's a joy to kick back & remininse. Oh, those were the days!! I would highly recommend this choice for the Mamas & Papas greatest hits album. It has many more of their popular songs and a good value for the money. I purchased another of their hits albums and it wasn't good at all. Didn't even sound like them, and maybe it wasn't recorded by them either. This album grabs you immediately and never lets go. I did not know a single Mama's & Papa's song and was lured to the band after watching a VH-1 special on them. The chemistry of the band is instantly noticeable. California Dreamin', Go Where You Want To Go, and Monday Morning are classics. Take a trip back a few years and enjoy the wonderful music and harmoney of one of the greatest singing groups to ever stand before a microphone. Cannot imagine anyone not enjoying the magical sounds emanating from my stereo speakers while listening to these great songs. A great purchase at any price.

If you like '60's Folk Rock, you will love this album. This group had an
incredible sound and the cd captures it perfectly. It is hard to believe
that John Phillips, Cass Elliot, and Denny Doherty are no longer with us.
But "California Dreamin'" and all the other great hits live on this cd.
