Free Music Review: Mame and Amazon to the rescue

I needed to use some of the music from the original cast recording of Mame for a program I was giving.
I own the score, but on vinyl and a turntable was not available to use for my presentation.
Amazon to the rescue with the cd. I was able to use it in a boombox and the show went on.
The score, of course, is great.
The service and fast delivery by Amazon tops.
This was not the first, nor the last time I will us Amazon.

Being a huge fan of the book Auntie Mame, and of the movie, it only seems natural that I would love the musical! The score is excellent, especially the title hit, and (my personal favourite) Bosom Buddies! Angela Lansbury is spectacular as Mame, and Beatrice Arthur is extraordinary as Mame's on again-off again best friend, Vera. A true classic that will make you feel good! Don't be surprised if you find yourself humming along!Free Music Review: An absolute classic.

Though I might argue about the quality of the show as a whole, the original cast recording of Mame ranks as one of my favorites, and undoubtedly one of the best produced cast albums ever. The entire cast (including Angela Lansbury and Bea Arthur) give excellent performances of some of Jerry Herman's best songs. As a constant Broadway listener, I have never heard a CD as astounding as this. Not only are the orchestrations outstanding but no matter what mood you're in, Mame will bring you back up again. If you are just becoming interested in Broadway music or are a long time Broadway verteran (but then again if you were, you would have allready heard this) don't pass this CD up. Do not be fooled. The movie soundtrack starring the unnamed redhead is the worst ruination of a brilliant score since some genius decided that Peter O'Toole and Sophia Loren would be great leads in Man of La Mancha.Get the original and enjoy!
