Free Music Review: I wish I had been there! But this is the next best thing.

First, for those who don't speak or understand Spanish, I have to say, you need to get Maná's "Sueños Liquidos" (their best, in my opinion) before you get this album. This is because you need to know what Maná sound like in their studio version. But this has everything. There are songs from their previous albums and covers of songs from other artists. Plus, it's live, "unplugged," and you really do get the feel that you are there. My favorite song here is "Falta Amor." It just gets me snapping my fingers while I'm stuck in traffic, regardless of the sad-but-true lyrics. And when I listen to "Te Solte la Rienda," and "En el Muelle de San Blas," I practically have tears in my eyes. And you totally get the feel that you are in the audience when listening to "Cuando los Angeles Lloran" because of the clapping from the audience as the group plays this song. "Desapariciones" and "Ana" are songs that no matter who sings them, they catch your attention because they are confirmations of things that are happening in Latin America today. I know that when Fher (the lead singer) opens his mouth, controversial things come out. But I hope that this doesn't sway anyone from giving them a chance. These guys are true artists. They are not a flavor of the month. You could say that they are the U2 of Latin America (I think they would like this comparison.) What I also really, really like is that the CD and cassette come with the lyrics in Spanish, as well as in English, so that you know what each song is actually about, although something does get lost in the translation because it just sounds much more poetic and romantic in Spanish. Now if you decide that you really like this, you should also get the video that accompanies this album. You should also get their live album "En Vivo." Or better yet, go see them in concert. Y para los que hablan español: solo por unas palabritas que Fher ha dicho, no se dejen enojar. Las cosas que el ha dicho son solamente las opiniones de el, sean verdad o no. Yo tambien soy fan de Ricky Martin. Pero a la misma vez voy con las cosas que Fher dijo por que Maná es un grupo de hombres artísticos, que su popularidad es algo que ellos se han ganado por su propio talento y trabajo duro. Les pregunto á ustedes: si Ricky no conociera a personas como Desmond Childs y Robby Rosa, donde estubiera el, si el no puede con que ni como arreglar sus propias canciones? O sea pues, cual es verdaderamente su talento? Me lo puede decir alguien? Yo no estoy aquí tampoco para ofenderlo a el ni a nadie por que a mi me gustan sus discos tal como los de Maná, por que yo soy una persona objetiva. Y aun que yo conosco la frustración que Maná siente, tampoco estoy aquí para defenderlos. Es que lo que pasa es que me da mucha rabia cuando la gente dicen docas malas sin tener razon ni sentido. Pero no nos concentremos en las opiniones de otros (si esos otros son famosos o no). Porque no mejor nos concentramos en tener esa amistad entre nosotros los Latinos, y tambien simplemente gozar la musica que nos llama la atención? Ojalá que asi sea. Y que ustedes tengan mucha paz, mucho amor, y mucha felicidad. De una Salvadoreña que le gusta los artistas Puertorriqueños y Mexicano igualmente...
