Free Music Review: You'll need to spin this a few times...
Hit: 4 Stars

..before you'll warm up to it. It would be easy to disregard this album after listening to it only once or twice. However, this recording is a bit too involved to swallow all at once. To put it bluntly, I hated this album at first. But, by "at first" I mean, after the first couple of spins. A few hundred spins later and I love the album. The Preachers are all over the place on this album. From the sappy ballad-ish "Ocean Spray", to the retro Beach Boy's reminiscent "So Why So Sad", down to the modernized disco sounds of "Miss Europa Disco Dancer"...these boys cover some ground. You'll love some songs and hate others, but overall (if you give it a chance), you'll celebrate another great MSP release.

Free Music Review: Great music, horrible lyrics
Hit: 4 Stars

It's so funny how the Manics always considered themselves on the edge of rebellion, yet they embrace as a dictator like Castro.

But that aside, this album is no doubt the best thing they've done since the Holy Bible. The music rocks hard, but yet it's very varied and none of the songs sound the same. A lot here harkens back to Gold Agaisnt the Soul, with even a few songs that sound like they could have fit on Generation Terrorists. Shades of REM can be heard on Year of Purification, U2 on Let Robeson Sing, Beach Boys on So Why, So Sad and even Sonic Youth on Intravenous Agnostic.

Their lyrics always were pretty terrible, but they reach an all time low here, but ignore the lyrics, and crank up the music.

Free Music Review: another good record
Hit: 4 Stars

I never understood the love for their old album 'Holy bible' that is considered a classic. The albums they made after Richie dissapeared are their best. Their music is a perfect combination of poppy melodies and punky guitars but on this album they show more variation and experimentation then ever. They show they're not afraid to go down the dance and blues route and it works really well. This record has about the same quality that Everything must go and This is my truth... had but the last 2 tracks are a bit boring (that's not shame with 12 good tracks) . Overall it has all the elements I expect from a good album/band: melody, dynamics, experimentation.

Free Music Review: Not so sad but...
Hit: 4 Stars

Ok. Why did the let "So Why So Sad" become the first single? It's the one that's least good. Intravenus Agnostic on the other hand is terrific. It look's like they are going a bit comersial by letting "So.." become the first single, to ge people to buy the record, but all the other songs are really good, so I forgive them.

Manics are political, you hear it in there lyrics, and you hear it in interviws, amd that's the best about them. The are one of the fue bands that haven't abandonned there oppinion. Stand up for it guys.

Free Music Review: Back At Last
Hit: 4 Stars

The Manics have come back at last witha pretty mixed bag of an album. Know Your Enemy is strong throughout, although its easy to see that they have gone back to there roots. Know Your Enemy contains theUK hit singles SO Why So Sad and Found That SOul and also contains top tracks like Epicentre, Ocean Spray and His Last Painting. I cant see this album winning the Manics any new fans but it will keep the old fans happy
