This cd is one of Chip Davis' best. "G Major Toccata" gives me the feeling that I am in a huge church with a big pipe organ. It's a very aggressive sounding piece. "Crystal" and "Interlude VII" are slow and soft sounding. The music kind of takes me back to some of those cold winter days I remember when I was a little kid. Just when the two above mentioned songs get me relaxed, I am jarred awake by the highly aggressive, and noisy "Four Rows of Jacks". The Synthesiser an harpsicord combine for a major blast of sound at the begining of the song. Then it's onto another soft and slow piece. "Red Wine" somehow reminds me of the song "Greensleeves" from Chip's second Christmas album. The two sound really similar. Next is my all time favorite Mannheim Steamroller song, "Dancing Flames". Nearly seven minutes long, it has a nagging synthesised, repetitive sound. It's a sound that often rolles through my head. In the middle section, is nice use of stringed instruments behind all the synthesised sound. This song I listen to several times a day!! This song alone deserves Five Stars!! Next on the tracking is "The Dream". When I first heard it, it kind of gave me the impression that a helicopter was flying over my house. This song gives Chip the chance to really have some fun playing the drums.(For anyone whose ever seen a Mannheim Steamroller concert, you know that Chip plays the drums on all the songs). There really is not a lot of drums there, but I get the sense that Davis was having a blast. Last but not least is "Embers". A peacefull, slow song to end the album on. All in all this album is a must for any Mannheim Steamroller fan, or any music fan in general. If you have not yet checked out a Steamroller album yet, I recommend starting with this one. You won't regret it!!!!
