Free Music Review: Changing the face of the Mainstream
Hit: 5 Stars

Manu Chao's mixture of influences has long been marked him down as world music but this album is likely to be changing the face of the mainstream. He's come a long way from Mano Nagra who started off by emulating the cross cultural experiments of English groups like The Clash and The Specials who loved to add Reggae and Ska to punk spirit. He's added other influences like Latin and African and an element of classic French and Spanish song writing. He's also learned to use simple lyrics backed with the feel of music to provide social commentary. The real development on this album is the re-introduction of electric guitars, played by sidekick Majid, which add to Manu's rustique strumming style. It's all been in the melting pot a long while and now he has a 'Mestizo' style all of his own that has already influenced many French and Spanish acts like Amparanoia, Fermin Muguruza and Sergent Garcia. It's not surprising as he's obviously a sincere guy who lives for music. Possibly acts in the Englsih speaking world will be looking up to him soon, this album could really cause a stir in the USA and the UK.

Free Music Review: La Radiolina Rocks Out
Hit: 5 Stars

Once again Manu has brought Musical Bliss and crosses language boundries with La Radiolina, it is wonderful to finally hear the studio releases of songs like El Hoyo, Tristeza Maleza, and Mala Fama after hearing countless live versions, listeners are are bombarded with audio montages which Manu is fameous for the words of The Bleedin Clown still echo thru my ears and my 5 year old son "The Gabester" can't get enough of Mama Cuchara and Politik Kills, the message of the musical "Traveling Political Junkie" Lives on and shall echo across the airwaves of Radio Clandestino ...................

Free Music Review: Manu is back!
Hit: 5 Stars

In fact, I guess he never left. I love this record upon first listen - frenetic, guitar-heavy and relevant - manu speaks for the many who are not heard yet he remains optimistic! We continue to dance to the beat and follow his pace. Can't wait to see this record live again - prospect park, NYC this past June was unlike any concert I've been to - including an encore in the rain. Don't make us wait so long next time Manu!

Free Music Review: It was worth the wait !
Hit: 5 Stars

La Radiolina is a magical album. One of those rare collections that only gets better with each listening. Songs like Mala Fama and Me Llaman Calle wil treat fans hungry for the smoother sounds found on Clandestino but Rainin in Paradie and Politk Kills will show how up to date Manu is. Get the album, listen to it a few times, learn a few new words and spread the spirt of Manu with those around you.

Free Music Review: worth the wait!
Hit: 5 Stars

Manu Chao's first new studio album in six years, "La Radiolina", far exceeded my expectations. I think this may actually be his best album to date - there is more musical diversity and less loops, and as always, his politics are spot-on. So glad Manu Chao is back - hopefully he'll do more dates again soon in the U.S. so Americans can enjoy what everyone else in the world is already hip to!
