Free Music Notes for E=MC2Free Music Review: GURRRRLLLLL u better WORK!!!!!!!! Hit: 5 Stars
After the FLOP that was GLITTER i really wondered if someone with such an amazing voice like Mariah Carey could ever make a come back. She proved she was still bursting with creative energy when Charmbracelet was released on a new record label known for its lackluster uninspired Hip Pop/R&B acts. Even though Charmbracelet wasn't really ground breaking it was way better then Glitter. But the album was a dud compared to what we've come to expect from Mariah and the album really didn't generate any attention and to this day i still haven't seen any of the music videos from that album aired on TV or anywhere for that matter. Fast forward to 2005 and we get the comeback album everyone's been waiting for. Though the Emancipation of Mimi was a great album it still had a few tracks that were just boring and uninspired. As good of an album as it was I didn't think it deserved all the hype that it got (The same goes with the Miseducation of Lauryn Hill). That's to be expected from a commercial artist. Now to E=MC2, this is a great album and in a lot of ways surpasses EOM. The first 7 songs are beyond addictive. The beats and hooks just REEL you in and is a TOTAL HIGH for the EARS hearing sensation. After track 7 you get a dud here and there and then you get another hit and then you have the album end with a crappy song which i don't care for. Overall i am very pleased with the new release and so happy it's finally out as i was expecting this release since Thanksgiving 2007. Mariah seems to be in the R&B realm and has no intention to return to pop music at all. In a world of music that really has boring uninspired R&B talents, it's nice to see someone like Mariah who is able to DELIVER the GOODS. As stated earlier with any release from a commercial artist you can usually expect about 4 great songs and 5 if you're lucky. Well with this album the majority of the songs at least 70 - 80% of the tracks are awesome with only a few dwindling ones in between. I can't wait to add the songs to my iPod and i am also looking forward to the Madonna album. I am not comparing the 2 artist but they have new releases in the same month and both have been in the business for over a decade so i can't wait. I really do wish Christina Aguilera was able to go in the same direction as Mariah. When Christina first burst on to the scene with a voice like hers everyone thought she was going to be LEGENDARY like Mariah & the sometimes Whitney Houston. But then her 2nd album STRIPPED came out and she seemed more like a female CLONE of the low budget Eminem then a real SINGER with great vocal range. Anyways I digress. Mariah you really are giving WHITNEY HOUSTON a run for her money...oh wait, WHITNEY isn't even in the RUNNING lol
Free Music Review: E=MC2 is the formula for #1 Hit: 5 Stars
E=MC2 broke down mean's Emancipation of Mariah Carey Part 2 and that is what it is a sequel to a great album in The Emancipation Of Mimi. They come as one just like Spiderman the 3 movie sequels. So if you loved the first Mimi you'll love E=MC2.
Now I'll "breakdown" every song for you
MIGRATE **** If you love club jams this is your song. T-Pain is booming and Mimi is the bomb.
TOUCH MY BODY ***** 18th #1 Hit and was #1 Video world wide... What you wanna something else?
CRUISE CONTROL *** This song would be a 2 star song but when Mariah did her reggae that made it a 3 star song. Featuring Damian Marley
I STAY IN LOVE **** For someone who ever loved someone deeply.
SIDE EFFECTS ***** My Favorite song on the album and if you lady's every been in a bad relationship got out of it but still feel the Side Effects this track is for you! Featuring Young Jeezy
I'M THAT CHICK ***** Mariah is just having a good time on this song and you'll love her for it...
LOVE STORY **** You'll love Mariah's Love Story cause she tells it so well...
I'LL BE LOVIN' U LONG TIME *** It's a good song but it can also be very close to be the same as I Stay In Love.
LAST KISS **** Two Lovers who won't let there Love end on one Last Kiss.
THANX 4 NOTHIN' *** Now most women out there would give this song a 5 star any day but I'm a dude and I believe that it's good enough for 3 Stars.
O.O.C. **** Mariah goes O-ut O-f C-ontrol on this track.
FOR THE RECORD *** Good but not great song it still goes really well with amazing album.
BYE BYE ***** Easy 19th #1 hit track! This song is for everyone... I'll go as far as saying you don't have to be a MC fan to love this song. It's better then We Belong Together and One Sweet Day.
I WISH YOU WELL ***** Mariah letting every hater and people who tried to hurt her, and telling everyone who has people who are hurting them to WISH THEM WELL!
Well there it is I believe anybody who gives this album less then 3 stars is a hater or is not giving it a chance to grow on them. Listen to it a few times then write your review and you'll see what I'm talking about. Look I want you to buy the album not for Mariah Carey but for you... Because you don't wanna be the only person you know that doesn't have it!
I don't care if you get it now or a year from now but you got to have this album! Music Lovers will agree
Free Music Review: Euphoria. Bliss. Heaven. Hit: 5 Stars
I wasn't that in love with 'The Emancipation of Mimi' in comparison with her other albums, but I agree that it was a wonderful album. But 'E=MC2' is probably my favorite album she's ever done. 'Butterfly' 'Rainbow' and 'Daydream' were wonderful but there were songs on all three that I skipped. On this one, I listen--gladly--to each of the fourteen tracks. Furthermore, this album is like a compilation of the greatest things from Mariah's glory days:
Migrate--with its melody and vocal arrangement, it reminds me of something straight from Butterfly. plus, the beginning is the best intro to a song I've ever heard.
Touch my Body--great song with a snap beat and a nice little "uhh oh" in the background
Cruise Control--again, melody is always MC's strong point. sounds a lot like Shake it Off
I Stay in Love--wonderful ballad with a nice vocal climax. nice lyrics
Side Effects--great lyrics, great beat, great vocals. like hip hop meeting Petals
I'm that Chick--a wonderful old school track that is playful and bouncy and fun
Love Story--wonderful vocal arrangement and melody
I'll Be Lovin' U Long Time--another great old school track
Last Kiss--love, love, love the lyrics and melody and the vocals.
Thanx 4 Nothin'--yes. that's all. pure heaven. especially the vocals and lyrics.
OOC--love the beat and the melody. reminds me of something off of Rainbow
For the Record-- 11/10. not only uses the music from her perfume commercial to great effect, but great lyrics, perfect melody, and a fabulous high note at the end. not only sounds like old songs, but uses lyrics from them
Bye Bye--undeniable pop magic with abyssmally deep lyrics and a heartfelt message. love the vocal climax. stick with what works, "One Sweet Day" as a single formula=greatness
I Wish You Well--i love it. the vocals. the soul. the high notes (really, really, "Emotions" high). the message. lovely.
I only caught high notes at the beginning of Migrate, in the vague background of Last Kiss, a really long, extremely high one on For the Record, a perfectly melodic segue on Bye Bye, and some really high ones on I Wish You Well. Maybe she's toning it down, with less high notes but the ones she does are really high.
All in all, one of the best albums of the decade, of her career, maybe even of all time. Not even exaggerating. 5 out of 5 stars
Free Music Review: It's like that Hit: 5 Stars
I was eagerly awaiting Mariah's new release E=MC2 primarily because of the massive success of her 1st single off the cd "Touch My Body" which was a bonafided smash.
It didn't prepare for what the cd as a whole had to offer which is far more than i anticipated this time around. From a kiss off track that shows exactly what kind of vocals she possesses "I Wish You Well" to a track about missing our loved ones that have passed on her new single off the album "Bye Bye". Also another that i enjoyed is the first song on the cd "Migrate" with T-Pain. You wouldn't think that it quite work out but somehow it all melds together with a fierce beat that won't let go of you and the vocoder effects that has T-Pain much success. Another one "Cruise Control" with Damian Marley. It has a slick reggae beat to it but it also has a upbeat style of flow to it both on her vocals and Damian's as well. It makes you feel like your on a beach on a far off island just relaxing.
"Thanx 4 Nothin" is exactly what it states Mariah's letting a guy know that she doesn't appreciate his tired, lame ways towards her. "I'll Be Lovin U Long Time" and "Last Kiss" show MC doing her thing and exactly why she has such steady and long lasting success and the vocals are never better. She also writes on every song on E=MC2 and has some help from Nate "Danja" Hills, T-Pain, Bryan Cox, S. Shropshire, Scott Storch, Jermaine Dupri, Terius "The Dream" Nash, S. Eriksen and T. E. Hermansen among others. It's a who's who list of producers and writers but she's still able to fly on her own throughout the release with only 3 guest stars (Migrate feat T-Pain, Cruise Control feat Damian Marley and Side Effects feat Young Jeezy).
Tracks of note (that should be future singles)
Migrate Feat. T-Pain
I Stay In Love
Side Effects Feat. Young Jeezy
Love Story
I'll Be Loving U Long Time
Last Kiss
Thanx 4 Nothin
For The Record
Bye Bye (already the 2nd single from the album)
I Wish You Well
i really enjoyed Emancipation of Mimi, but dare i say it. I'm enjoying E=MC2 that much more and its going to be another smash album for Mariah and her fans are feeling it as well and even if your not a fan of MC. Give this one a try and a few listens i think that it just might change your mind. One of the better cd releases of 2008 so far.
Free Music Review: MARIAH CAREY "E=MC˛" Hit: 5 Stars
If you ask me, Mariah Carey is without doubt in a league of her own in the music industry, her vocal ability is simply stunning, and she never fails to even slightly disappoint each time she releases an album.
"E=MC˛" is Mariah's 11th studio album and is quite similar to her last album "The Emancipation Of Mimi" which became the biggest selling album of 2005. Mariah tends to be on the end of comments like "she's trying to be hip-hop" far too often and unless you've followed her work, you'll know this clearly isn't the case, Mariah's always had R&B style songs and working with rappers has been a gradual process.
The album opens with "Migrate" (featuring T-Pain) and the song starts with Mariah's whistle note before the "Bounce, bounce, bounce, bounce" kicks in, there's a high chance that this will be a future single off the album as Mariah has said she wants to release it. "Touch My Body" (Mariah's 18th #1 single) is next and is surely known by anyone and everyone by now, it's a great catchy midtempo track that shows Mariah's fun side with the lyrics. "Cruise Control" features Damien Marley and Mariah joins him by singing a couple of lines with a Jamaican accent, again showing another side of her having a fun time. "I Stay In Love" is next which has to be the best ballad on the album, it's similar to Mariah's 16th #1 single "We Belong Together" but her voice is sounds more powerful here. People who are fans of Mariah's ballads will be pleased to know there are quite a few on this album, "Love Story," "Last Kiss," "Thanx 4 Nothin'," "For The Record," "Bye Bye" and "I Wish You Well" are all slower songs and show Mariah's voice isn't going anywhere. The uptempo tracks are also here with "I'm That Chick," (which samples Michael Jackson's "Off The Wall") "I'll Be Lovin' U Long Time," (which is possibly Mariah's best uptempo song of her whole career, it's the perfect choice for the 3rd single) "O.O.C." and "Heat" - Young Jeezy features on "Side Effects" which shows how Mariah is still haunted from her divorce. It's good to see Da Brat feature on "4Real4Real" as she's one of Mariah's best friends and know she isn't only working with rappers who are very popular at the moment.
The album doesn't disappoint in any way and Mariah's definitely going nowhere but up in the charts.
