Free Music Notes for E=MC2Free Music Review: She's Just Getting Started... Hit: 5 Stars
While listening to "E=MC2," I keep asking myself, "What CAN'T Mariah Carey do?!?" This album is one of the most remarkably sublime pieces of ear candy in recent memory, and certainly one of Mariah's best. From the opening note of the lead track, "Migrate," there's no doubt that this is Mariah. Her high octave coo welcoming us back into her hit factory, where she's planning to give us a tour we won't soon forget.
There are so many potential hits here, it astounding! The gamut is run from slick hip hop ("Side Effects," "Last Kiss," "For The Record"), to the beautiful love ballads ("I Stay In Love," "Love Story") to carefree pop fabulousness ("Cruise Control, " "O.C.C,") to you-shoulda-known-what-you-had-when-you-had-it breakup snaps ("Thanx For Nothing," "The First Time"). The CD even ends with a jazzy, gospel-tinged piano track that harkens back to early Mariah (Think "If It's Over" or "Vanishing").
My favorite tracks have to be "I'm That Chick," a luscious, breezy throwback to 70's disco that will have you grooving and hitting replay over and over again, and "I'll Be Lovin' U Long Time," an addictive old school R&B gem that will have you humming and singing hours after you've shut your CD player off.
In my opinion, this is the most consistent Mariah Carey CD so far. Amazing production, great vocals, enticing melodies, and relateable lyrics. Mariah has something for everyone here. This is the CD that will change whatever opinion you have of her. If you've never liked her, this will be the one that turns you around. If you thought she was strictly a pop diva, you'll discover more versatility that you thought she had. If you think she's gotten too ghetto, you'll find youself hard-pressed to keep your head from bobbing along to a sweet pop melody. And if you thought that she was the best thing since sliced bread, you'll discover she's the whole damn bakery!
I think this will be the year of Mariah Carey. I predict that this CD will have her tying, if not breaking, the record for most #1 singles by an artist -- an honor currently held by The Beatles. They've got 20, she just hit 18 with "Touch My Body." And she's just getting started....
Free Music Review: SHE'S THAT CHICK!!!! Hit: 5 Stars
Mariah is one of the few people that could still make good music. She has the voice. What's not to like about Mariah??? She's gorgeous, has a great voice, and a sexy deep voice. Forget about chicks like Christian Milian, Ciara, Leona Lewis, etc. They got nothing on Mariah. Beyonce is a good singer, but she sounds typical. Mariah has that distinctiveness in her voice. It sounds very girly and she's the only singer I know that can do whistle register. I think it's fair to say that she deserves all the success and we need to give her credit. This album is great. I could listen to all the songs on this album w/o skippin it....even though she doesn't hit high notes that much. I put a star to my most fav ones!
*1. Cruise Control-This track is awesome! She doesn't sound bad speaking in patois. My dad is gonna love this!!!! 5/5
*2. Last Kiss- very catchy and the lyrics are cute. I found it funny when JD says "stop crying". 5/5
*3. Thanx 4 Nothin-I love this song. I could relate to this song about bein played and heartbroken. 5/5
4. I'm That Chick-sounds really different from the rest. It has this dance pop feel to it.5/5
5. Migrate-Some people don't like this song, but I do. It makes you wanna go to the club with ur gurls. 4/5
*6. Touch My Body-the lyrics are very flirty and seductive. hee hee 5/5
*7. For The Record-I remember hearing parts of it in her fragrance commercial. I like it. 5/5
*8. Side Effects-she talks about her past relationship with Tommy Mottola and how's she still dealing with side effects. I could almost relate to the lyrics. 4/5
*9. O.O.C.-love the beautiful flute playin in the background! it makes me wanna think bout "my papi". 5/5
10. Bye Bye- the song reminds me of Beyonce's Irreplaceable with the beats. I like how the beginning goes..."this is for my peoples who their...baby, their man, or their lady." something like that. 5/5
11. I'll Be Loving U Long Time-okay, i guess..3/5
12. I Wish You Well-beautiful 5/5
13. I STay in Love-sounds ok. 4.5/5
14 Love Story-their beats sound similar to I Stay In Love, but either songs sound good. 5/5

Well, well, well. From the most successful female recording artist of all time comes an album full of memorable gems that are sure to please even the most critical of critics. Mariah Carey delivers a stunning performance on E=MC2. The first and most emotionally gripping track im going to share my insight on is Bye Bye. This song speaks of lost loved ones and the deep emotion Mariah exhibits is tantalizingly impacting. While listening to this track you cannot help but reminisce about all the loved ones you lost and dont be surprised if you find yourself shedding a tear or two. Furthermore, "I Stay in Love" is another powerful piece of music that is indicitive of Mariah's relaying of true love and its everlasting mark on ones heart and soul. "I Wish You Well" is perhaps the standout track of the album. This gospel-laced track shows that Mariah's vocals, althought not in their prime, are still capable of producing immense soul. This track will bring you back to the days when Mariah's vocals were unmatched (with the exception of Whitney Houston) and will have chills streaming through your body as her voice caresses the words with unmistakeable presence. Another great song is "Last Kiss". This song will fill your heart with joy and happiness and is undoubtedly one of the best songs on the album. A catchy beat coupled with Mariahs sweet supple vocals solidify this songs place on the album. All in all there are only a couple songs on this album that are not at least good. "O.O.C." and "For the Record" are the only songs on the album that did not keep up with the greatness of this album. The songs I reviewed are all ballads. But have no fear if your looking for club tracks. That need is met here fully. That is perhaps the best part about this album. Mariah's ability to give her fans the inspirational tear jerking ballads, and at the same time incorporate the head swaying numbers that keep the balance is superior to her counterparts. Congratulations Mariah your achievements are hard earned, and well deserved.
Free Music Review: Love it! Modern Mariah!!! Hit: 5 Stars
I could not wait for Mariah's new album to come out and I really was not disapointed. It has stayed in my CD player since 4/15! Although fans love to hear her hit those high notes we only get to hear it 3 or 4 times this time around. The reason being I believe is that after her last hit Emancipation she feels like she does not have as much to prove any longer. Its pretty liberating to hear Mariah singing songs that SHE wants to sing. I think Emancipation was a more solid album overall & a pure classic but this new one serves it purpose also. Theres a little bit if everything, it's a Mariah we have never heard before. This is her most personal album in a long time & at the same time it is the PERFECT summer CD! In my opinion what would be nice is if she didnt wait 3 years again & in say 2009 came out with a more old school ballad type album, just to redeem herself for this one and prove to everyone else once and for all that she's still got it! Thats just me dreaming but who knows it could happen, she has been known to release CD's two years back to back in the past before. Anyway, over all this is a PERFECT album from Mariah, almost every song could be a hit single! As I said before its the perfect Summer album w/ tracks like CRUISE CONTROL, I'LL B E LOVIN U LONG TIME, LOVE STORY, and MIGRATE which happens to be one of my very fav, its the hottest track on here!
My very Favorite songs are SIDE EFFECTS, FOR THE RECORD, THANX 4 NOTHIN, I STAY IN LOVE, and I WISH YOU WELL will really remind you of old school Mariah as she shows her vocals amazingly hitting the whistle register!
Of course this is not her best album ever, it would be hard to top the BUTTERFLY, DAYDREAM, EMANCIPATION, MUSIC BOX albums, but its still great and just a FUN album! I love it when she sings Jamacian!
Highly recommended, go get it!!!

Mariah Carey's last album was so perfect. She finally stopped whispering and placed her voice back above the mix and showed why she's had so many #1's -- her voice is stunning! For all the copy cats that come and go, nobody will hold a note and work it out like it's at Bally's like Mariah.
Her new disc is not a disappointment. It's not an exact retread of her last one, but it does share that same mix of thumping bass over her crystal clear voice, it's a mix that's worked so well last time so why mess with it.
There isn't one weak track on this disc, with all the top tier production she receives from Swizz Beats, Danja, Durpi, you'd think someone would drop the ball but nobody does. The dance tracks, "I'll Be Loving You Long Time" & "O.O.C." have that wonderful 70's feel that Alicia's album went for (but just missed the mark), out of the two "O.O.C." has the edge with it's more playful riff. "Side Effects" is another winner with a much harder and darker edge that works. Carey's not pushing her vocals and for most of the album, she's not octave leaping like she did on her last disc.
The ballads has always been her strong suit and this disc has some great ones. "Love Story" needs to be a single now! Jermaine Dupri and Carey just work. The same goes for "Last Kiss," these mid-tempo songs build until she lets it rip at the end. Her voice has gotten deeper, and it adds a great depth to the songs.
"I Wish You Well," with it's proverb spilling, gospel tinged, octave leaping showiness is Mariah making me wish she would do a gospel album.
Mariah has never gotten the due she deserves for reinvention. She's lost her footing along the way but most great artists do. Making great music is a journey and it's been an excellent one for her fans so far.
