A unique blend of post-punk 80's music from artists such as Bow Wow Wow and The Cure, along with Classical music scores from such composers as Vivaldi. The music perfectly compliments Sophia Coppola's biopic film "Marie Antoinette". Music chosen expresses the mood for each given scene. I thought the movie was genius! It was a stunningly beautiful concept film, open to interpretation. A very fresh approach to a historic period film. It gave me a newfound interest in history, Marie Antoinette, and 80's music of that genre.

I know I'm in the minority, but I thought that the movie was very dissapointing. I went in not expecting anything, and I left feeling cheated out of... well, the ticket price, and my time.
The music in the movie, however, made it endurable. I usually do not buy a soundtrack to a movie I dislike, but I can't help it for this one, the soundtrack is amazing.
In short: this album is amazing, but don't waste your time on the movie. In my (minority of an) opinion.

I LOVE THIS MOVIE...
i think many didn't 'get it,' but if u really watch it u c the brilliance. the affluence of the late 90's and early 21st century FOR A SMALL MINORITY of the country afforded this unsustainable lifestyle.... i think the reason why people didn't like this movie was because it was like looking in the mirror .... why does history keep repeating itself
instead of storming the Bastille, we should be storming Wall Street and the banks that support it

I purchased this album right after seeing the movie. There is only one word for this compilation of music - FANTASTIC! It was so ingeneous of Sophia Coppola to incorporate music from the 80's into a historical movie! It gave a whole new flavor to the typical period piece. I am a huge fan of the music from the 1980's - especially Adam and the Ants!
I recommend this album highly for everyone. The music is wonderful and the film is visually beautiful. Mon dieu! What a treat!

This is one of the most enjoyable compilation CD's I've ever had. Not only is Sofia Copolla a great director but she has fabulous taste in music!!! Who knew??!!! Many of these songs I liked in the 80's when they first came out but in this CD they are mixed in a great order!!! It's a feel great energetic selection along with a few fabulous moody pieces!
What a fabulous movie visually and musically and this takes you back to it!!!
