Free Music Notes for Eat Me Drink MeFree Music Review: Marilyn Manson Gets Musical Hit: 5 Stars
I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that if Anti-Christ Superstar was your favorite Manson album, then you probably won't enjoy Eat Me, Drink Me.
By all accounts Eat Me, Drink Me is vast departure from the shock rock albums Marilyn Manson has typically been associated with. That's not to say he's changed completely. They lyrics are still decidedly Manson, but unlike his previous Manson does not dominate the song but is part of them.
Songs such as "Putting Holes in Happiness," "The Red carpet Grave," and "Heart Shaped glasses" feature a new bluesy/depressing tone. Eat Me Drink me features perhaps more melodic intricacies and solos's than all of Manson's previous albums combined.
A change in style is every so often necessary to further an artist's career. If Manson had released another Anti-Christ or Holywood it would have come across as stale and dated. But the style change on Eat Me, Drink Me is both refreshing and energizing and not radical enough to alienate long time fans.
Free Music Review: The continuing morphing of Manson... Hit: 5 Stars
Why some people seem to want artist to pump out one type of album over and over again is beyond me, how dull. From "Smells like Children" to "Eat Me, Drink Me" there is a very dynamic evolution from disc to disc. Never the same sound twice nor the same image, which Manson does well and he does exactly what he wants and the way he wants it.
Some bands/artist can not make good transitions in their werk, they lose their essence and can not maintain their identity. Manson makes great transitions from disc to disc and when people whine about his werk because he didnt do another "AntiChrist Superstar" disc, are intitled to that, but they do not see the werk for what it really is.
Its more then just another disc, its more then just musik..People need to learn to look a little deeper and past their ususal boundaries, I know some can not do this or lack the insightfulness to relate to the werk. After all these years, how can anyone be foolish enough to expect Manson to release anything similar to what he has already done?
Free Music Review: Wow... Hit: 5 Stars
Well, this definitely seems to be a love-hate album amongst Manson fans.
Now, I own all of Manson's albums and I like them all with the exception of "Portrait of an American Family"- and the thing that fans need to understand here is that Manson has taken a different approach to every album he's created. None of them sound exactly the same and this CD is no exception. Manson created yet another album that is completely different from anything he's done before and it came out great. There are some amazing guitar riffs and solos and the songs take on a great emotional feel.
He does, however, cut out most of his harshly executed and intense vocals that were present in previous albums, but honestly it corresponds nicely with the music. Manson shows us that he doesnt have to use severe vocals in order to create an amazing record.
I don't recommend this to die-hard fans of Manson's "Antichrist Superstar" but if you enjoy "The Golden Age of Grotesque" or even "Mechanical Animals", I'd tell you to give this CD a try.

Free Music Review: A solid piece of manson Hit: 5 Stars
I must admit I was a bit worried putting this CD into my player the first time. With the disappointment that was GOLDEN AGE OF GROTESQUE and Manson being sidetracked with his artwork, film production and losing Madonna Wayne Gacy, I was rather scared of what this album would turn up like. I must say I was wrong...
I rated each song individually.
1. If I was your vampire (8/10)
2. Putting holes in happiness (10/10)
3. The Red Carpet Grave (10/10)
4. They said that hell's not hot (6/10)
5. Just a car crash away (9/10)
6. Heart shaped glasses (9/10)
7. Evidence (9/10)
8. Are you the rabbit? (9/10)
9. Mutilation is the most sincere form of flattery (8/10)
10. You, Me and the devil makes 3 (9/10)
11. Eat me, Drink me (10/10)
Album as a whole (9/10)= 4.5 stars, I rounded up to 5.
