Free Music Notes for Eat Me Drink MeFree Music Review: Eat Me! Drink ME! AMAZING... Hit: 5 Stars
I have been waiting on Pins and Needles for 4 long years for a new album! I couldn't wait to get my hands cluched around my very own copy! The best feeling in the world is anticipation and when you set out and get what you want and are more than happy and blown away by it is justification of your hopes! I will say I already love this album more than any of his past. It is the first time that you feel his emotions in the music and lyrics. This is not simply a work of art but a true masterpiece. It is very differant from anything else he has set out to do. I think those who are saying this album is less than stellar are the same people who hated mechanical animals when it was released because it was differant than anti-christ. Putting Holes in Happiness is my favorite track, I recommend buying this album ASAP!
Free Music Review: Manson's "Solo" Album Hit: 5 Stars
Although every Manson album is pretty much a solo album, "Eat Me, Drink Me" is his self-proclaimed "singer/songwriter" album--think Chris Cornell without Soundgarden or McCartney without the Beatles. The aging goth rocker charts new emotional territory here with assistance from co-producer Tim Skold. There aren't any balls-to-the-wall rock singles, I'm afraid, and that's going to turn some Spooky Kids away. If you're a fan of Manson's previous slower tempo work (Mechanical Animals ballads such as "Coma White" or Manson's cover of Tainted Love) there's a lot to fall in love with on this album.
Free Music Review: Manson Does it Once Again!!! Hit: 5 Stars
As I heard this new Album I thought "wow, he's not bashing the church, the government, irresponsible parents or morons!... this is new!"... But, as he said in his interview, he had gone through a divorce and was actually just releasing what he was feeling without making it seem like was taking advantage of the situation... So, if you were expecting him to sound like his previous albums I've got a question for you... How many times can an artist/musician bash society and all it's glory before he/she starts repeating themselves? To me that was the daring and controversial thing about this album: He wasn't being his controversial self, as some would think... So, listen to the album and take it in as what it is: A collection of new songs written by yours truly, Marilyn Manson...
Free Music Review: Notice how Manson haters don't review the actual MUSIC? Hit: 5 Stars
But at least intelligent Manson fans will look past their ignorance and realize hey these jealous close minded morons aren't even reviewing this album they are just bashing Manson, like it changes anything. Manson is NOT washed up by any means and this is a great album. It's different but still dark and heavy and no fillers on here like all of his albums. It's not his best but that's not fair to compare bands' new music to their absolute best work. This is a 4 1/2 star album and better than at least 90% of other music out there. Every song on here has a different sound to it as well, Manson is probably the only band that can have a different sound on every album with no fillers and yet remain great. So again screw the 1 star reviews on here they are just bitter and jealous
Free Music Review: the album i was looking for Hit: 5 Stars
Ok Manson is good at doing hard rock, and most of his hardcore fans only like him for that style.
Heavy guitars and fast drums, it's fun for some time but it's better to vary and it was time for Manson to get back to a more _interesting_ style like Mechanical Animals.
I must say Mechanical Animals is one of my favorite albums and the guitar solo of Great Big White World is the most powerful piece of Manson's music.
So no, Manson is not a 'sell out', this kind of music is much braver than classic metal or hard rock or some stupid remixes like he's done before.
This new album 'eat me, drink me' sounds like a mix between MA and Golden Age, and it sounds _terrific_.
Thank you MM for some real powerful music.
