Free Music Review: Tasty Change of Pace

Ballads, Lead guitars ripping, wild colorful portraits. This is first rate rock music. Not much like his LEST WE FORGET collection, but why compare one studio album with 15 years of his best work. This album stands on its own as good hard nail biting rock with a flair for the weird perverse and shocking (of course). Highly recommended if you enjoy this wildman and his music. This one may take a bit longer to embed in your synapses but I bet it stays in there for a long time. I found from reading reviews that if you liked Mechanical Animals you will like this cd, if you liked Antichrist Superstar the most you probably will not like this cd. This album is definitely different from their past work, but as soon as I listened to it I liked it. A part of why Marilyn Manson is still successful is because they evolve and change over the years, so you shouldn't expect this album to sound like any of the past ones. I think the guitar solos are great and most of the songs have catchy lyrics. I haven't stopped listening to it since I bought it.Free Music Review: If I Was Your Vampire!!!

This was the first Marilyn Manson CD I ever bought! It was really good! I only bought it for one song. Here's my story; When I saw the preview to Max Payne, I liked the song they played, called If I Was Your Vampire That's why I bought this CD. Now, when I think of that song, I think of Max Payne, and when I play Max Payne, I think of that song. In a weird way, Max Payne brought me to Marilyn Manson. The other songs I like are Putting Holes in Happiness, You and Me & the Devil Makes 3, and They Said That Hell's Not Hot. OK.. i was a big fan of mechanical animals because i am a fan of fabulous... i like manson because he's faggy and evil... both of which appeal to me... this album is catchy as F***, has great guitar solos, reeks of 80's hair bands in many places (which i love... it's an early influence for him) and the songs are well written..
right now, my favourite lyric is "i have mood poisoning... must have been something i hate"
HA!! i love how even his cynicism sounds sarcastic and self-mocking.

Its not your outlet if you're looking for something just balls out hardcore like The Golden Age of Grotesque. Where The Golden Age of Grotesque was Manson's ego CD, Eat Me, Drink Me is its polar opposite. In this CD he opens up and just spills it. I'm having relationship trouble recently and this CD made so much more sense when I felt like my heart was torn out. I actually had to shut it off because I couldn't deal with the raw truth of it all. So amazing, I highly recommend it to anyone who has an interest in pure and true art.
