Free Music Notes for The Golden Age Of GrotesqueFree Music Review: GAOG Hit: 5 Stars
This isn't my favorite manson album but it is still amazing every CD he makes has a new and different sound sometimes he hits like on (mechanical animals) sometimes he misses (never). I liked the CD overall theres something about it though that makes all the songs seem to blend and twist together which is different from his earlier albums. This is certainly not a bad thing and it still works.some stand out tracks are (mobscene, (s)aint, the golden age of grotesque, and ka-boom ka-boom) another thing thats different about this CD from previous manson efforts is that religion is surprisingly not a huge topic he's obviously moved on to a differnt statement however i do think that this cd is more about kick ### songs and creating a stunning work of art then it is about anti-preaching to the masses. But the one thing that is true is that His music will resinate in your ears and though out your brain long after you put this record to rest
Free Music Review: Masterpiece Hit: 5 Stars
Well, I'm not going to waste time telling you what you all already know about the album, such as its inspirations and mood. Let me be the first to say that I listen to Manson's music from an artistic perspective and not a rock one, and I think that this is a wonderful display of wit and intelligence that is very rare in art today. Manson's not pretentious at all, unlike most modern artists. He's a genius when it comes to wordplay and musical composition (most of the album was composed completely electronically is what I've been told). Also, it was created with the help of avant garde genius Gottfried Helnwein, and it shows. There was also a bonus disc with my copy that contained a film called "Doppelherz", which was brilliant. I love this album, and listen to it not only when I paint, but sometimes even for inspiration. Kudos to Mr. Manson and Mr. Helnwein for creating something so innovative. Buy it if you love good art.
Free Music Review: Different, but still terrific! Hit: 5 Stars
I do agree that "The Golden Age of Grotesque" is a little different from Manson's earlier releases, but the songs on this album are extremely catchy. I first heard "The New S**t" on the Matrix Reloaded soundtrack and was really impressed and then heard "MOBScene" on a local radio station and knew I had to get the album. I love it. There are many great tracks on it that get stuck in my head. The song "Golden Age of Grotesque" is always in my head. Other songs that I can't seem to get enough of are "Use Your Fist and Not Your Mouth", "Spade", "(S)aint", "Kaboom Kaboom", and "Doll-Dagga Buzz-buzz Ziggity-Zag".I was amazed at how many negative reviews were written about this album. I think that any Manson fan should give it a try and be their own judge. I personally think it is great, but you'll have to hear it yourself to decide.
Free Music Review: Most will dissagree.. Hit: 5 Stars
I have a feeling that most people will disagree with me, but i think this is his best album, i have listened to his others, but the reason i say this is because this has the most mosh-to fist pumping songs of all his albums. And personally im not all that big on his other stuff, this is the only album i listen to, and then a few hits here and there off the other albums (i.e. Holy Wood, The fight song, coma white etc. etc.) If your new to manson, and are into metal, or hardcore stuff, and need that heavy riff to be there, pick up this one, if your not new to manson, this album is good, but most manson fans would find other albums to be better (mechanical animals, antichrist superstar, so on so forth). But for the most part this is a solid album, but may sound familiar to other songs , and may not have the shock value other albums had. o and by the way, im not 13 i just didnt feel like making an account.
Free Music Review: Charles Monroe had an ugly baby Hit: 5 Stars
In an alternate universe, the actress Sharon Tate invited Marilyn Monroe over for drinks with her and Roman Polanski. One of the guests was an aspiring songwriter named Charles (you can call me Chuck) Manson. A good time was had by all, although Chuck did make some mention about how empty the walls all looked...
Fast-forward to today: Marilyn Manson lives. Parents are afraid of him and their kids love him. Personally, I didn't think I would like his music, until I heard this album. Witty and rythmic, he made a believer out of me.
Of course, if you're reading this, you probably know exactly how good this album is. But if you are just looking for a recommendation... this album rocks. And as for the christian dude... Bush sucks.
Put THAT in your pipe and smoke it...
(Buy this album. I promise you will love it)
