Free Music Notes for The Golden Age Of GrotesqueFree Music Review: best album i bought the last 3 years Hit: 5 Stars
i really don't know what all this stuff 'he's runnin out of ideas how to shock people' and so on is all about.
mm's the golden age of grotesque is definitely one of the best albums i ever bought!
the time i bought TGAoG i was attending a lecture at university about the grotesque in film and literature. since then i recognize new details every time i listen to the album!
i love the german chansons of the 1920's and 30's, the swing and the whole 'spirit' of this era and on TGAoG marilyn manson combined This kind of music, elements of the grotesque and his own fascinating style to a wonderful piece of art!
thanks for The Golden Age of Grotesque!!
Free Music Review: Make no mistake, Manson gets better with age. Hit: 5 Stars
I love everything Manson has done, but this one is right up there with Mechanical Animals as his best work. His new one, Eat Me, Drink Me, is coming out in a few weeks, and I am pumped for that too. This one includes the hits, "m(obscene)", and "this is the new sh##". But I think there are plenty of other awesome songs on here. He is not as heavy as he used to be back in the day, but I think he has gotten better at song-writing and coming up with killer hooks. For those of you who have stayed away from him because he looks freaky, you are missing out on one of the most talented musicians of our time. Not a dull moment on the cd. SOLID. My favorite cd of 2003.
Free Music Review: Golden Age is a great album Hit: 5 Stars
This review is coming from a guy who's 35 years old. Take that as you wish. Living through the 80's and 90's metal scene, I have to say that this album is the best to come out in 10 years. Golden Age is solid. How else can I say it? Every track leaves you waiting to hear the next with anticipation. This album is definitely more listenable than earlier Manson, and I think that the listenability makes this album one of his best. Stand out tracks include New S#it, mOBSCENE, (s)aint, and slutgarden. For me, hands down, the best track on the CD is Use Your Fist, Not Your Mouth. If you are considering a first Manson purchase, this is it.
Peace.
Free Music Review: If I could give this 10 stars I would! Hit: 5 Stars
Very impressive, I have been listening to Manson for a long time and now two of their albums are my favorites. This one and 'Mechanical Animals'. Definitely has a very German feel to it. I have to say I liked every song on the album. Favorites: 'Para-noir','Ka-Boom Ka-Boom','Vodevil','Doll-Dagga Buzz-Buzz Ziggety-Zag','Spade' and 'The Golden Age of Grotesque'. This album is artistic, hard hitting and just plain interesting. I have to give it a high rating because it was awesome! It kind of takes you into a wicked underground direction as well. I have listend to this band ever since the first album and they have definitely matured in thier sound.
Free Music Review: "Another Magnificant Work of Art by Rev. Manson" Hit: 5 Stars
I have skimmed through most of your reviews and I see confused reactions. Every Marilyn Manson album screams out from its deep rebel core that in spite of every Christian effort, there will be nothing for their repent or their pleas of salvation.
This is yet another magnificant work by Reverand Manson. A true Satanist will understand that it is another up-front IN your Christian F*cking face--government ridiculing--fight album. What will come next ? This is Manson's best work EVER!
Truth will Set you Free
