Free Music Review: Better than the last album..not their best...but going that direction
Hit: 5 Stars

Let's face it the last album wasn't exactly the best. Depression killed it nearly, but it did have moments of clarity. I have been a fan since middle school and Antichrist, Smells like children, and Portrait of an American family were my first Manson experiences. Anti being the kicker. If I had to rate all of their albums from best to "worst" I would say 1. Antichrist 2. Portrait 3. Mechanical 4. Holywood 5. The High End of Low 6. Golden Age 7. Eat me Drink me.

I don't care to go into extreme detail about all songs, but Devour was the best opener since Mechanical Animals, and 15 was the best closer since Antichrist. Period! The only things I took away credit for isn't even the albums music. He and the band continue to keep it creative and different trying different styles of music on EVERY album with, in my opinion, Eat me drink me. 4 rusted horses is something manson fans haven't experienced before, as well as 15. What was the downfall of this album wasn't the music it was the packaging, design, bonus material, and tour setup. If the tour gets better I wouldn't be surprised though. I saw NIN at Bonnaroo at what was being called their final concert in the US. Trent jammed out 30 tracks with NO breaks. They play from 1 30 am till 3 something. Manson has been playing the same set for the last couple years. CHANGE IT UP!

Free Music Review: ...the genius that is
Hit: 5 Stars

It is great to see so many 4 and 5 star reviews of this newest music by Marilyn Manson. This is without a doubt his best work to date and easily the most accessable to anyone who might want to join the legion of fans who have come to respect the mark he has made in this genre of music. I have had the CD in my car player since I bought it and to this date have never grown tired of the music on it. I think as Manson grows older he realizes that his audience is going to grow with him and thus respect this new sound we have heard on this CD as well as the last one. The different sounds eminating from my speakers keep me on my toes and I look forward to hearing something I did not hear the last dozen or so times I heard the same song. This collaboration with Twiggy and Chris should bode well for Manson on future projects. I have heard that this is his worse selling music to date but I find that heard to believe as everyone I speak to loves it. I guess we will have to see where one of the most influential artists of this type of music takes us next...

Free Music Review: From A Long Time Fan
Hit: 5 Stars

Ive been listening to Manson for over 13 years. All I can say is that Manson is as strong as ever. So called fans might criticize his more human and personal lyrucs and to those I give a big F@#$ You! Seriously his music is different from every album. Portrait wasnt at all like Atichrist Superstar, Antichrist Superstar wasnt at all like Mechanical Animals, Mechanical Animals wasnt at all like Holy Wood, and the same goes for The Golden Age of Grotesque, and EAT ME DRINK ME. Hes always changing his image, music, sound, etc... Its all according to the messege he wants to give. If you didnt know that about the man then really what kind of fans were you to start? Every song here has a messege and a meaning. In fact you can watch the interview on Youtube where he discuses every song in the album. The music was very well produced and raw and I am overjoyed with the return of Twiggy. This is basically a make you feel good album. I cant wait for his upcoming album. Manson is still King.

Free Music Review: Marilyn Manson
Hit: 5 Stars

Even though Marilyn Manson's popularity is not what it once was he still continues to put out incredible albums and this one is no different. The opening track "Devour" has become one of my favorite Manson songs. I think anyone who is a Marilyn Manson fan would love this album. It is also good that he has Twiggy back for this album, hopefully he stays. My other favorite songs are "Four Rusted Horses" and "Arma-goddamn-motherf**kin-geddon". Then you get this incredible ballad type song that only Manson could do called "Running To The Edge Of The World". I have always loved Manson's slower songs which really showcase his unique vocals. "We're From America" is another catchy tune that will be on a Greatest Hits Volume 2 if there ever is one. And as a nice bonus you get a second disc with six alternate versions to the songs on the album some which I like better than what ended up on the actual album. It is nice Manson is still around.

Free Music Review: Marilyn Manson takes on blues rock.
Hit: 5 Stars

The very first song on this album "Devour" is awesome! Right away your hooked. This is MM's seventh studio release....Manson's previous album (Eat Me Drink Me) is considered by most Manson fans (Mansonites) to be his least impressive material. On this album, Twiggy Ramirez returns to the band along with Ginger Fish on drums (and he also plays the piano on the song "Into The Fire", and Chris Vrenna formerly of Nine Inch Nails, and the band Tweaker. The song "WoW' is kinda industrial-pop....really strange sounding. I love it! All of the Goth-Industrial flavor is here along with Manson's Glam element, but the new thing being introduced on this album is primarily the blues. My favorite song on this album "Four Rusted Horses" is bluesy and unusual. Anyways, a good album...not my favorite MM album...but still a great album.
