Free Music Notes for All the RoadrunningFree Music Review: Did Not Disappoint....... Hit: 5 StarsAfter seeing this twosome on Sound Stage, I was hooked and ready to purchase. I realy love all the songs (rare), and would purchase more Mark Knopfler. The instrumentals are beautiful and complex, nice blending of voices.
Free Music Review: Nice collaboration between two accomplished artists Hit: 4 StarsThis album has a lot of meaningful content, and the collaboration between these two artists is greater than the sum of the parts. While not demonstrative of Mark Knopfler's best capabilities, his playing & songwriting plays off Emmylou Harris' vocal strengths in a most agreeable fashion. Well worth adding to your shelf if you're a fan of either artist!
Free Music Review: Is this really comparable to Suprise by Paul Simon? Hit: 1 StarsI have liked Mark Knopfler's music in the past so when I saw it was recommended in the Amazon catagory of "people who bought Paul Simon also bought this" I thought OK lets go for it. Firstly it took ages to arrive and when I played it I could not believe how ordinary and depressing the sound was. As a child on wet Sundays we would struggle to find a radio station that wasn't just Songs of Praise. Inevitably it was whining Country & Weston at it's most melancholy. This album could have featured on one of those shows with Emmylou Harris doubling the whine and depression. Sorry C&W fans, there's lots of it I like, but if this album had arrive within the stipulated return period it would have been straight back.
Free Music Review: Mark and Emmylou Hit: 5 StarsThis is a great CD. They blend so well together and everything about it is so beautiful. You can understand every lyric and it's a CD on which every song you like. Hope they make more music together.
Free Music Review: mark knopfler is the greatest guitarist in rock--greater than hendrix or clapton Hit: 5 Starsthis cd displays knopfler at his most fluid, lyrical and smooth. less is more with knopfler. all the notes are held for their maximum emotional effect; he almost cries into the guitar. the songs are great and emmy lou is in fine form, but listen to knopfler play his axe and you know what rock genius is. (along with that tremelous, deep voice of his).
