Free Music Review: Like a fine wine
Hit: 5 Stars

A great CD, with many songs in a slower style that will disappoint only those whose interest in Mark Knopfler's music is fleeting at best.

How many artists are putting out material that their fans can truly embrace like this more than 30 years after their first recordings? The list is very short, especially if you hold them to creating music that meets or even surpasses their early work. Mark Knopfler is a truly remarkable human being.

Free Music Review: Becoming a fan
Hit: 5 Stars

This CD has some lovely melodies, and the lyrics are interesting as usual. My husband introduced me to Mark Knopfler's music, and my appreciation has increased with each CD I listen to. Husband thinks some of the lyrics are a bit too grim ("Madame Geneva's", for example). I find some of them startling and some puzzling, but either way, I enjoyed the music. "True Love Will Never Fade" is a beautiful tune.

Free Music Review: You Know What You're Getting
Hit: 5 Stars

I'm a child of the greatest two decades of music ever - the 60's and 70's. Plain and simple, if you appreciate listening to songs WHERE YOU CAN ACTUALLY UNDERSTAND THE WORDS, and are a fan of Mark Knopfler's work with "Dire Straits", then you'll appreciate this album.

I have an ear for good tunes. This album is a great listen. BUY IT! - you won't be disappointed.

Free Music Review: Classic Knopfler
Hit: 5 Stars

Just picked up the latest offering from Mark Knopfler - "Kill to Get Crimson". A beautiful, subtle CD. If you're still looking for "Money for Nothing" look elsewhere. If you're looking for a mature look at life from a master of understated, brilliant songwriting and musicianship, buy this CD. "All the Roadrunning" with Emmylou Harris is also recommended.

Free Music Review: Sweet & Tasty
Hit: 5 Stars

At his age, he's got the wisdom a seasoned player, gentle, nothing to prove, just ever so tasteful and wonderful. Already an understated player who believes less-is-more, Mark K. settles down even more and he gives out the solos sparingly in favor of long, sustained chords that drone like the early rock and roll of Duanne Eddy.
So good it is.
