Free Music Notes for Local Hero (1983 Film)Free Music Review: ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT, BRINGS THE FEELING OF SCOTLAND TO YOU! Hit: 5 Stars
I am 16 and I bought the Local Hero album before I saw the film and I absolutely love it. It really makes you feel like you are in Scotland, and as you lie back and close your eyes this music brings it all to you!. I have tried to collect all things Mark Knopfler has done (inc. Dire Straits) mainly because I think he is one of the best guitarists in the world. If anyone would like to E-mail me and talk more and share info about his music then please e-mail me: daniel_walton@lineone.net I would love to hear from anyone who shares similar view...
Free Music Review: Top-notch Knopfler Hit: 5 Stars
Dire Straits notwithstanding, Mark Knopler's score for "Local Hero" is one of his most wonderful musical contributions. This film score is one of his finest, along with his scores for "Cal" and "Comfort and Joy". Did James Horner hear these Knopfler scores before his titanic "Titanic" score? I think so. But Horner was not able (or allowed) to communicate so simple and sweet a vision. "Local Hero" is one of the great films of the 80s, and so, too, is Mark Knopfler's score for that film.
Free Music Review: Perfect. Hit: 5 Stars
I simply can't imagine a more perfect soundtrack than this.
While it standa wonderfully on its own as incredible music, if you're a fan of the film each track brings back the warm feelings from the film as you are instantly taken back to Furness.
This is truly an audiophile demo recording and it's impossible to not be cheered and revved up when listening to "Going Home."
Truly a treat and a must buy.
I'm truly shocked that it hasn't yet been released on a 180g or 200g audiophile LP.
Free Music Review: One of the best soundtracks ever. whith a good title. Hit: 5 Stars
The first soundtrack i ever bought. MK's first real filmmusic, and this album made success. I like every song here. Some of them is he's really favourites , like, "Wild Theme" and " Going Home", these ones is on other albums too. The other tracks is fine too. Good instrumental play, the lyrics is very good. This filmmusic fits very well to the movie. It is smooth songs whith more faster....good combination. Nice pocket too. Well you must buy this one! bye. /John.L
Free Music Review: Local Hero Hit: 5 Stars
This track captures the spirit and essence of Ireland and its Celtic atmosphere. The sound of seas crashing on rocks and shore and roar of distant thunder. Although there is a variety of different themes with each track the haunting traditional Irish themes are just so powerful and moving. I loved this CD. The music is fabulous. I am a great fan of Mark Knopfler. He is so talented.
