What can be said of this recording? That it is a classic in the Dietrich oeuvre; that it has sold over a million copies worldwide; and that it presents the captivating Miss Dietrich at her best.The recording, recorded in London in late 1964, presents Dietrich at - in the opinion of many critics - her best in the qaurter of a century she toured the world with her legendary one-woman act.
Many Dietrich standards are included - from the film days ("Lola", "Laziest gal in town" and the inevitable "Falling in love again") to some of her later numbers ("Honeysuckle rose" - a sublime rendition) and songs she picked up on her extensive tours ("Shir Hatan").
Most fans will already own this album; however, it is also a wondeful introduction to the cigarette-smoke tinged cabaret world of Miss Dietrich.
