Free Music Notes for Free to Be You & MeFree Music Review: My kids Love This! Hit: 5 Stars
Perfect for parents wary of the messages our kids are given through the popular music of today. My own kids are too old for nursary ryhmes & baby music, but I am not ready for all of the songs on the radio about girls trying to get boys attention. My 7 year old won't let me turn off the car until the 'Parents are people' song is over. Plus, I listened to this as a kid & I love it too. P.D.
Free Music Review: Fantastic CD Hit: 5 Stars
"Free to Be You and Me" was a favorite of mine when I was growing up, and my kids (5 and almost 2) love it now. The songs and spoken-word performances are funny and memorable and carry great messages about being ourselves and not being bound by gender stereotypes. A great antidote to some of the prevailing cultural messages...and lots of fun to listen to, as well!
Free Music Review: Timeless entertainment for little boys and girls Hit: 5 Stars
My daughter listened to this album when she was a little girl, and now that she and her friends are having babies, it's time to bring it out again! After 25 years, I found the music and lyrics still pleasing to the ear, entertaining, humorous. And the lessons in living are still needed. I'm enjoying sharing this CD with a new generation of boys and girls.
Free Music Review: Great for your kids Hit: 5 Stars
I recently saw the film "Half Nelson," and there's a scene where the drugged out school teacher's parents put this on. It was the hip record to have for your kids once upon a time, and even if they don't turn out exactly like you'd wish they would have, if they listen to this often enough, they'll turn out just a bit more tolerant than if they hadn't.
Free Music Review: Free to be you and me, Marlo Thomas (CD) Hit: 5 Stars
An oldie and goodie! My kids (now 32 and 28) will still go around singing/saying phrases from this record, heard hundreds of times during their childhoods. "Me First, Me First!," and "It's all right to cry," conjure up smiles all around the family. A classic with good basic lessons for any decade, then and now. Susan Taft, Cleveland, Ohio
