Free Music Notes for This Is Easy: The Best of Marshall CrenshawFree Music Review: Crank up the Marshall! Hit: 5 Stars
This is a great 20 year retrospect of a brilliant songwriter from his early self titled album through his very underated 1998 "Miracle Of Science" plus bonus tracks. The songs are rarely complicated, very singable, and that's what's makes them memorable. If all you know is his hit cover of "Someday Someway", you've missed the boat for a long time. This is great american rock and roll songwriting. An absolute must have.
Free Music Review: I refuse to buy this album... Hit: 5 Stars
...not because I don't like the music on it, it's just that I have every song already in my MC library. Yup, I started back in the early `80's with his first album and have purchased and re-purchased (replacing cassettes and records with CD's) most everything MC has put out in the US market. But for peeps new to MC or for existing fans who want to give one as a gift, this 'best of' would be a good choice. word to ya mutha!
Free Music Review: Awesome collection Hit: 5 Stars
This is a very good compilation of Marshall's career. The man is a songwriting genius and an above average guitar player. In a perfect world he would have been a huge star. Every song on this collection is a gem and the cd is quite a bargain ( 22 songs on a single cd!) " You're my favorite waste of time" is one my favorite songs ever! Buy this if you love good "old school" rock/pop.
Free Music Review: There are not enough words. Hit: 5 Stars
There are not enough words to describe how great Marshall Crenshaw is. This CD does a good job of summing up the genius that he is. My personal favorite is "Whenever You're on My Mind" That is as good as a great pop song gets and why the thing wasn't a massive hit in the 80's is beyond me. Buy this now-and like the other reviews say, pass the word.
Free Music Review: Total Mystery Hit: 5 Stars
I had only heard of Marshall Crenshaw once or twice and never heard any of his music before I bought this CD. Listening to these cuts over and over and over again, I keep asking the question raised by almost every other reviewer: How is it possible that this genius is almost completely unknown?Buy it and improve your life with incredible songs.
