Just a wonderful CD. MCC fans will know what I mean without any further explanations. Her voice is not just a voice it is a flowing spirit which moves in and through carrying you right along. Her voice is an old friend whose voice speaks of love and life and draws you closer. This is better then Between Here and Gone. The Calling is fabulous! LOVE it! This is not an album for the weak -- her lyrics hit you right between the eyes. Her descriptions of emotions and life are Dead On Target. The music is awesome--hats off to M-C who can sing, play guitar and write music at this level. In this new CD I can hear all kinds of songs from her past albums blended into this one. Moreover, she copies no one; yet, she pays tribute to composers and other interpretive singers. Sheer joy to listen to. I previously thought State of The Heart was my favorite MCC album of all time but the Calling has taken it's place! If you like ANY classic MCC, the Calling is for you! Houston track can almost make one cry! Beautiful songs, beautiful album, can't wait for the next long awaited one although this one would be hard to beat! Love it!!
