Free Music Review: Great to have it all!

This CD is what one could call "The Complete Poppins" It has every single bit of music (underscoring and dance included) used in the final film and it sounds as fresh and lively as it did when I was a child. The second disc features interviews with P.L.Travers, who wrote the original Poppins stories, and the Sherman Brothers, who wrote the film. It is a fascinating look at a unique collaboration. All in all it is one of the best soundtrack re-releases I own. There's no hesitation for you in buying it (unless you're diabetic, then a spoonfull of sugar would not be a good thing - I kid, I kid - ok, ok send the veteran RN death threats).Free Music Review: What a Jolly Holiday!

Mary Poppins: 2 Disc CD Soundtrack is very Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious! Since getting it in the mail today I have been listening to it any spare second I find. You are never to old to listen to this wonderfully done music. It is a Broadway style musical movie with wonderful singers Julie Andrews and Dick Van Dyke. The extra music that was not included in previous released CDs make this a must! I know I will enjoy this CD for years to come and recommand it strongly for anyone else who enjoys Mary Poppins, Disney, or Broadway style music.Free Music Review: Practically Perfect...

A really wonderful re-issue of this classic score, made even richer by the inclusion of much of the orchestral score. My only quibble, rather small, is that the expanded overture heard on the original lp has not been included. That overture goes on a little longer than the film version and is quite beautiful. Has this version been on any cd issue of the soundtrack? As I said, small point, and this cd belongs in every soundtrack collection - it's just great - and far better than the current stage version.Free Music Review: A TIMELESS CLASSIC

Julie Andrews IS Mary Poppins and this CD captures the very essence of the movie. The DVD is a classic and so is this CD! When I hear "A Spoonful of Sugar" it can only be sung by the one and only Julie! The songs have spanned generations and this is a terrific CD for the new generation of Mary Poppins aficionados!
Sidenote... I made a back-up CD editing the songs my granddaughter likes the most so she can hear spoonful of sugahhhh and supercalifragilisticexpialadocious over and over again!

My whole family loves this cd. In fact, we recently took a road trip and took it along and my 4 year-old daughter loves to sing to just about every song. She also likes to hear some songs more than once. The soundtrack cd can be listened to all the way through. One of the all time great albums. The second cd is great for people who like to have some behind the scenes. This cd is an A+ for my daughters aged 4 and 1.
