Free Music Notes for Blue LinesFree Music Review: This is the... Hit: 5 Stars
I have listened to this album so many times I lost count. It is utterly essential listening for anyone into this music scene. This has not left my CD case even once, except to listen to it over and over. Have you ever shuddered when listening to a really great song? Do you ever get goosebumps or feel a tingle when you are deeply touched by a peice of music or a good book or film? Do you choke up a little when your favorite tune comes on. This record did that for me. I like every song, but the first track is the very best. I demand that you fork your hard-earned money over to Amazon and get this record. You wont be disappointed!
Free Music Review: Unbelievably sensuous and haunting...terrific silky grooves! Hit: 5 Stars
Definitely one of the landmark albums of the 1990's, "Blue Lines" is a major achievement transcending r and b into a whole other dimension. "Unfinished Sympathy" is, to me, the highlight of this superb album...gorgeous vocals...otherworldly music...a flawless song. Along with other songs on the album, especially "Safe From Harm", "One Love", and "Blue Lines", this album is a one of a kind...I haven't heard much music similar to this style...and I like them like this...Massive Attack stands out in an industry filled with manufactured pop...this is a breath of fresh air...
Free Music Review: one of the most underrated debuts ever Hit: 5 Stars
if there is ever an overlooked album this is definitely one of them. from the moment "Safe from Harm" starts we are encapsulated by this unique Bristol sound. what makes this Bristol sound so unique is the using of vintage sounds and putting them into such new settings. this album is definitely un-categorizable. we have soul/R&B, dub, hip-hop and even the hint of the Portishead like vintage soundtrack sound. this album is most certainly seed planting and both sides of the Atlantic have undoubtedly taken this to full advantage. never has an album had a "i know i've heard this somewhere" kind of attitude.
Free Music Review: Best album of the 90s ? Hit: 5 Stars
The first time I heard "Unfinished Sympathy" I remember turning my head, wide eyed, towards the radio and
asking myself "What the hell is that !?" This Bristol Wildbunch's release left me speechless.
Did we forget what a breath of fresh air "Blue Lines" was ? It is possibly the best album I own (certainly of the 90s). It moved me and it continues to do so. It was nothing short of revolutionary, uplifting (certainly compared to later releases) and it withstands the test of time surprisingly well.
I am puzzled at some of the harsh things some had to say about "Lines". This album is essential.
Free Music Review: Massive Attack's Blue Lines is Incredible! Hit: 5 Stars
Why in the hell did it take me 9 years to buy this cd? After reading a magazine article and listening to a few tracks of this album on the internet, I decided to buy it. Wow, this album is truley great. I can't believe it was made a whole decade ago. The sounds they use I like alot. They are simple, but I love them. Songs like "Safe From Harm", "One Love", "Unfinished Sympathy", "Blue Lines", and "Five Man Army" are gems. The other songs are ok, but these alone are well worth your 14$ or whatever.
