Free Music Notes for Blue Lines

Free Music Review: One of the best albums of the 90s
Hit: 5 Stars

This album still sounds great to me after 7 years, and I have no doubt will still sound fresh in another 7. Some truly outstanding tracks, and a laid back style that many have tried to imitate but none pull off so well as Massive [Attack]. Their later albums are more brooding, musically complex and thoughtful, yet some of my favourite tracks are on this album (and well represented in their current live set I am happy to say). A great album from one of my favourite bands - their other albums are equally good, so be sure to check them out also.

Free Music Review: A must have in the style...
Hit: 5 Stars

First advice, if you don't know MASSIVE ATTACK, you should try to listen one or two of their songs to check if you like this style of music. If you know that it's the case, you can buy that CD with your eyes closed ! All the tracks are awesome, "BLUE LINES" is always original but never annoying... "unfinished sympathy" and "Hymn of the big wheel" are, for me, among the best songs ever in the style...
Second advice, you should pay attention to another great CD in the style of that one : AFTERLIFE "SIMPLICITY". you won't be desappointed...

Free Music Review: One regret
Hit: 5 Stars

There is not much more that can be said about this album. The hype is true, and if you don't hear that on the first listen through, just wait. Listen to it a few more times and it becomes obvious just how great it truly is. I have however one regret. It took me 8 years to find this album after its release. Had I known what was happening in Bristol all those years ago I'd be able to have enjoyed this album even longer. Don't hesitate. Discover this and the rest of the Bristol music scene as soon as you can. You'll be better for it.

Free Music Review: Great album from the 90s
Hit: 5 Stars

I first heard this album about 6 years ago and was amazed by the sound. I am not a big hip-hop or electronica or dance music fan but I really liked the sound Massive Attack created. Now after repeated listens it is still a favorite of mine. Their sound has aged better than a number of similar bands from the time like Portishead.
The album combines a dark, night-time ambience with a generally hopeful, soulful sound. My favorites on the album are Safe From Harm, Unfinished Sympathy, Blue Lines and Be Thankful For What You've Got.

Free Music Review: One of the best CD's I've ever heard
Hit: 5 Stars

This is great stuff. The music has kind of a jazzy, reggae, hip hop, techno kind of vibe. It sounds like smoking pot feels, draggy and sensual. The best tracks are Daydreaming and Five Man Army, with some great rapping by Tricky. American MCs should take lessons from him. I like Safe from Harm and Hymn of the Big Wheel, and One Love- hell, every song is GREAT! Buy this album! Amazingly, this came out the same time as Nevermind and Loveless and Fear of a Black Planet. Has music gotten any better since then?
