Free Music Review: Solid package for a band that is often dismissed
Hit: 5 Stars

Matchbox Twenty sometimes gets dismissed for not being substantial enough with the pop/rock they create, but in this day and age when everyone celebrates any group with an inkling of musical ability, the body of work that Matchbox has accumulated to be admired even more.

These guys know who they are and what they want their sound to be, which is not to say they do not keep exploring and pushing their limits...as evidenced with the new songs. As far as the hits on this package goes, like them or leave them, chances are the average listener knows them all and can sing along with each of them.

Staying active with the band also allowes Rob Thomas the chance to do what Phil Collins was able to do in the Eighties, explore different styles of pop with his solo stuff while having the tried and true sound of his band to come back to. I applaud them for leaving his side work off of this and keeping it strictly a Matchbox offering.

Free Music Review: After the delay
Hit: 5 Stars

For all those that are bashing this CD, you have to remember that Rob and his pals decided not to release a new CD for a while so they could get ahead in other aspects of life. (Rob wanted to spend some more time with his wife among other things and reasons). But before you complain too much again, remember that during the wait, Rob Thomas released his album SOMETHING TO BE as well as performed for MEET THE ROBINSONS and was seen on several reviews etc.

No, there is no good reason to complain. Every person has a right to get away for a little while and do something a little different. So if you are complaining about the artists and not the songs(specifically) go jump off a lake, because the artists have a right to live a life THEY want, not the life you want them to live.

Free Music Review: It's amazing at how far they've come!
Hit: 5 Stars

It seems like it was only yesterday when I was 14 and "Push" came out on the radio. It was new and fresh, a different sound than anything else on the radio. They made waves with their debut album "Yourself or Someone Like You." Well over a decade later they're still cranking out hits like their most recent "How Far We've Come." I think it's a great song and I play it a lot. The rest of the new songs on Disc 1 are also top-notch. Some of their best material in years! The second half is great to reminisce about their older hits like "3 AM" and "Unwell." If you like Matchbox 20 as much as I do then you'll probably enjoy this greatest hits compilation with a few new songs thrown in for the fans. Who knows what they'll come up with next. Until then I'm anxiously waiting!

Free Music Review: Near Perfect
Hit: 5 Stars

Matchbox Twenty is a band that I have been loyal to from the very begining. No need to catch up I bought Yourself Or Someone Like You since I first heard 'Push' (still my fav MB20 song)Watching them evolve since then into an incredible adult contemporary band I was more than eager to pick up their new double disc. If you want to get an even better bang for your buck go get this new cd at Best Buy because then you get the 6 new songs and two live bonus tracks of them covering The Black Crows and David Bowie. The 6 new songs are fantastic each one a great listen. Then you get all their singles in a greatest hits compilation on a second disc. I dont know if this is the end for this band. But hearing what they have come with with their 6 new songs I sure hope not!

Free Music Review: Exile on Mainstream is an amazingly, fantastic album! Welcome back boys!
Hit: 5 Stars

Exile on Mainstream by MB20 was a long wait, but it was definitely worth it! The six new songs are excellent examples of the ever evolving MB20; combined w/ their past three albums' greatest hits makes for an incredible two disc release. I have read previous reviews stating MB20 is lazy or that the reviewers are disappointed after waiting FIVE long years for something new from MB20. Well, MB20 is not lazy by any means and if you were a true fan then you wouldn't call these amazing and talented musicians such things. As for waiting for 5 years and only getting six new songs, they are wonderful songs we can enjoy listening to until they release a new album full of all new songs. All TRUE FANS will buy this album and will be very pleased with both cd's.
