This album has Rnb,Funk, and beautiful intrumental beats that make you feel good when you hear this album. If your a soul/r&b fan you gotta get this album its worth the money. As a great fan ive been following Maxwell for a long time and never had the time to meet him i would look foward to that. He really brings a voice, good music, and music that actually has words that have meaning. So Go and Cop the album is Hot!
Free Music Review: Maxwell Is Awesome! Hit: 5 StarsMaxwell's Urban Hang Suite lives up to the title. Every song on this album meets my expectations of what true artistry is about. As I've herad it said, Maxwell reminds you of Marvin Gaye and Prince. Yet he has his own style, flavor and creatvity. His music is almost mesmmeric; his voice is soothing, classy, and sensual. He does a great job transporting you to that place he wants to take you. I deffinately give Maxwell a thumbs up for not only Urban Hang Suite, but Embrya & Now.
Free Music Review: AWESOME Hit: 5 StarsThis album is really good. Definitely one of very few CDs you can listen to without forwarding tracks. All the tracks are great. If there's one or two you do not really appreciate at first, trust me you will after playing them again. Really good.
Free Music Review: DebutDejavu Hit: 3 StarsMaxwell is definitely slick. His smooth falsetto is truly beautiful and his musical arrangements are decidedly groovy/funky, etc. However, Hang Suite is an album largely without soul, though not really through any fault of Maxwells. There are great tunes on this cd, and individually they are fine neo-soul-fare, but as an album they do not synergise well and Hang Suite comes off as lifeless; analogous to Frankenstein's monster minus the electricity. On the other hand, for music lovers who have never listened to superior soul albums like Marvin Gayes "I Want You," Hang Suite will sound great. In all, Maxwell does show lots of promise on this album, and Whenever, Where ever, Whatever is possibly the most beautiful lovesong composed in the last 25 years. However, the album as a whole is no classic.
Free Music Review: Excellent Debut!!! Hit: 5 Stars"Urban Hang Suite", Maxwell's debut CD, is an excellent blend of cool R&B/Soul tracks. The fast songs make you want instantly get up and dance, and the ballads make you feel like Maxwell is singing the beautiful and emotional lyrics to you and only you.Stand out tracks: "Sumthin' Sumthin'," "Ascension (Don't Ever Wonder)," and Whenever, Wherever, Whatever. I would highly recommend this CD to anyone who wants to hear some really GOOD music!!!
