Free Music Notes for Maybe This Christmas

Free Music Review: Fun and different
Hit: 4 Stars

This CD has the traditional songs done by unique artists in unique ways. Some songs I could care if I ever heard again, others made me glad I bought the CD. Coldplay is the reason I purchased the CD and still my favorite on the album.

Free Music Review: Neat Holiday Alternative
Hit: 3 Stars

Considering the Clear Channel-controlled airwaves of today, it's nice to have a holiday soundtrack that isn't that same ol' batch of songs over and over again. Like almost any compilation, this collection is hit-and-miss, but even the misses are endearing in their own way. My personal recommendations are:

1. Winter Wonderland - Phantom Planet
2. Maybe This Christmas - Ron Sexsmith
3. Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas - Coldplay
9. God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen - Barenaked Ladies with Sarah McLachlan

Free Music Review: Not a bad CD
Hit: 3 Stars

If you're looking for something interesting this Christmas, I'd recommend this CD. At the very least, the always amusing Ben Folds will have you laughing with "Bizzare Christmas Incident", about a little mishap with Santa.

Free Music Review: Christmas songs
Hit: 3 Stars

Some good Holiday songs, more contemporary artists - a little change out of some old classics

Free Music Review: WOW
Hit: 1 Stars

This is by far the most hideous compilation of Christmas songs I have ever heard. Besides tracks 9 and 15, the rest are pathetic at best.

My Dad came how saying nothing but good things about the Barenaked Ladies version of God Rest Ye Marry Gentlemen, I decided to think about getting it for him as a Christmas gift, but after listening to Vanessa Carlton butcher Green Sleeves, my favorite Christmas song, and Jack Johnson sing the worst version of Rudolph the Red nose reindeer, I decided this would be the worst Christmas gift ever. I then proceeded to listen to Phantom Planets attempt at a rock version of Winter Wonderland which was just as bad as the other songs.

In short I found very few, if any, good songs on this CD, and would not buy it even if they payed me to take it.
