Free Music Notes for Meet Joe Black: Original Motion Picture SoundtrackFree Music Review: Some of Thomas Newman's Best Work Hit: 5 Stars
I thouroughly enjoyed this entire CD. Ever since I saw this movie I just knew I had to get the soundtrack, and I wasn't in the least bit dissapointed. The movie is extremely moving and beautiful (in my opinion) and so is the soundtrack. Thomas Newman has developed several themes in this movie, my favorite quite possibly the love theme. But there are many mysterious, emotional, and exciting tracks on this cd. And of course a wonderful orchestration of "What A Wonderful World". And yes, that mix of Wonderful World and Over the Rainbow (played at the end of the movie) is on this CD.
Free Music Review: The Best Soundtrack Ever Hit: 5 Stars
This soundtrack is the best soundtrack you will ever listen to. After watching the movie I felt that I had 2 listen to the soundtrack. Because I play the cello this music was very enjoyable for me. Some of these tracks were so good that i got the chills. "Whisper of a Thrill" is yet my favorite song on the cd i listened to it and began to cry because something about it made me feel sooo happy yet a little freaked out. Anyways the cd is great I listen to it when i go to bed and when I'm cleaning it's something that anyone can enjoy even if they dont like classical music.
Free Music Review: Thomas Newman at the top of his form Hit: 5 Stars
This soundtrack showcases Thomas Newman's enormous talent, encompassing many different styles and melodies. It fits perfectly with the film, and track 19 (That Next Place) is a particularly moving piece of music. My one complaint is with track 20 - I feel that it would have been better if Louis Armstrong's original version had been used. Other than this, a perfect soundtrack! If you like this, try some of Newman's other work - The Shawshank Redemption is my personal favourite, but Oscar and Lucinda, American Beauty, and The Green Mile are all well worth a listen.
Free Music Review: Beautiful and mystical Hit: 5 Stars
I remember when I saw the movie Meet Joe Black; the musical score was perfect for this movie. It captured the beauty, the mystical innocence, and the haunting subtleties of meaning that made Meet Joe Black so moving. The instumentals of horns and strings rekindle the same emotions anew each time I play this soundtrack. Of course, the exotic rendition of Somewhere over the Rainbow is why I found the REPEAT button on my CD player; it is sweet and oh so hummable.
Although some of the tracks are too short, the soundtrack remains well worth the purchase.
