Free Music Notes for Meet Joe Black: Original Motion Picture SoundtrackFree Music Review: Less is More! Hit: 5 Stars
The soundtrack for Meet Joe Black is one of my favorite orchestral C.D.s. I have not heard any other stuff by Thomas Newman, but I really like what he has done for this soundtrack. His selective use of consonances and dissonances together cause the music to flow so easily through your mind. The tracks are short and he includes many rests, but even with the lack of length, the music still makes a huge impact on you. I would recommend this C.D. to anyone who has those emotional times in life that can only be expressed through music.
Free Music Review: Exceptional Music! Hit: 5 Stars
My reaction to this film score has nothing to do with my reaction to the film. In my opinion, the film isn't even close to 5 stars, but despite that fact, for me this music is absolutely sublime. Thomas Newman has a way of using different instrumental sounds to create simple themes with unique and stunning variations. In addition, I usually do not care for pop songs thrown in, but "Somewhere over the Rainbow/It's a Wonderful World" work very nicely here. If you love beautiful orchestral sounds with gorgeous violins, this score is for you!
Free Music Review: A melody of music that always lingers on in your mind... Hit: 5 Stars
I loved the soundtrack of "Meet Joe Black"... I am a collector for short... I collect almost every soundtrack of a movie that is romantic & touches your heart with just an enchanting tune... This soundtrack did more than that... Especially the songs that is played by a piano... "Walkaway" I loved very much... Also "A frequent thing" was really touching... Well all that I can say it is a "must have" soundtrack... Just like "City of Angels" & "Message in a bottle"...
Free Music Review: Nothing short of a complete masterpiece. Hit: 5 Stars
I first became interested with the music of Thomas Newman after seeing Road to Perdition (the movie has a heavily captivating soundtrack). I later decided to buy the Meet Joe Black soundtrack and I must admit I was not the least bit disappointed. The songs are all beautifully written, with sultry chords adding that Newman touch to every song. The Jazz pieces in between serve as a nice upbeat break from the thoughtful tracks that span the CD. If you love music, you must try this soundtrack. Its musical content is worth every penny.
Free Music Review: This is my favorite CD... absolutely beautiful ! Hit: 5 Stars
A great mix of soothing background music, upbeat dance style, and meloncholy melodies that capture the feeling of the movie so well. This soundtrack conveys so much emotion -- joy, sadness, mystery, and celebration. It's great for commuting or background at work. The mix of flute, oboe, french horn, and strings is blended perfectly. It conveys feelings of flying, going down waterfalls, and making it to the top of a mountain! One of my favorites is the oldie "What a wonderful world". It says it all.
