Free Music Notes for Peace Sells...But Who's Buying?Free Music Review: Megadeth Classic Is Remastered Great! Hit: 5 Stars
This is the first cd I listened to out of my set of remasters I purchased. This is the cd that put Megadeth on the map so to speak. Dave Mustaine did a fabulous job on this cd. It just sounds incredible! I remember when this cd first came out when I was 16 and in high school. Someone I knew at school lent me his copy and I thought it was an awesome CD.
The three best tracks are "Wake Up Dead, The Conjuring and Peace Sells." However, actually all the tracks are good. There isn't a bad song on this cd. The 4 bonus tracks are interesting to listen to as well.
The cd booklet includes a new commentary by Dave Mustaine about "Peace Sells But Who's Buying/" It also features some cool photographs of the band in 1986.
Long time and new Megadeth fans will be pleased. I'm glad Dave Mustaine is back to playing in top form. I can't wait until the new Megadeth record "The System Has Failed" comes out on Sept. 14, 2004. I'm also looking forward to seeing them live in the upcoming tour.
Free Music Review: I've got a surprise for you all! Hit: 5 Stars
I actually think the remasters are better than the original recordings!(though the original recordings kick major ass as well). As you can tell, Megadeth is my favorite band. Here's some information for those of you who are trash talking Megadeth because Dave Mustaine remastered their entire catalog:
HE HAD NO CHOICE
The original recordings disappeared. Megadeth had to painstakingly re-record their ENTIRE CATALOG. And you people have the gall to say that Dave did it because he sold out?! Would you rather have remastered CD's, or none at all? This is Megadeth's 2nd best CD, beaten only by the work of art known as Rust in Peace. Dave vocals definately suit the style, and his soloing and riffs kick ass. There's plenty of dual shredding with guitarist Chris Poland. Dave Ellefson is an awesome bass player, and Gar can drum with the best of them. Make this a part of your CD collection!
I love fallout boy can eat the peanuts out of my s***. When you see his review, click "No".
Free Music Review: One of the top metal albums Hit: 5 Stars
Peace Sells is a milestone album in 80's heavy metal. "Wake Up Dead" and "Peace Sells" are iconic, and "Devil's Island" is another strong song. With all that being said, I do have some problems with the lyrics in the next two songs although the music kicks ass: "The Conjuring" about black magic, and the disgusting "Black Friday". "I Ain't Superstitious" is a cheesy cover song that would have been better as a B-side (like "These Boots"). However, this was Dave Mustaine's and Megadeth's solid effort to compete with his former band Metallica. Metallica's early success was thanks to Mustaine's influence and the songs they had already written together. Unfortunately, this album marks the end of their first line-up, but they would have a better one with "Rust in Peace" through "Cryptic Writings". I still give the album five stars for its place in heavy metal history, the landmark "Wake Up Dead" video, its iconic songs, and awesome cover.
Free Music Review: Incredible Remastered Version Hit: 5 Stars
All I can say is WOW.. Dave Mustaine really took his time to remaster his whole back catalog and it shows. I'm not going to go into detail of each song, because if you like metal or music in general then you should have already heard this album. STOP READING AND JUST BUY THE ALBUM!!! All the songs sound amazing, and the quality is incredible. Each song sounds like a new experience now, I was extremely surprised to hear the bass guitar in a few of the songs! STOP READING AND JUST BUY THE ALBUM!!! The bonus tracks are different mixes of a few songs. The liner notes are good explaining the history of megadeth up to that point and some of the writing process.
It goes unsaid that this is a must buy for both metalheads and Megdeth fans. STOP READING AND JUST BUY THE ALBUM!!! One of the best albums of all time with better production than most albums today.
Don't think about it just buy it...
Free Music Review: THRASH CLASSIC Hit: 5 Stars
In case you don't know, this was Megadeth's second album and their last with their original thrash style, which would morph in the more varied ''So far, so good, so what!'' and then leap into Progressive Thrash realms with 1990's ''Rust in peace''.
When this album came out, they were one of the most technically proficient bands of the lot, with the instrumental talents of Chris Poland and Gar Samuelson, both trained in jazz technique. But of course mastermind Mustaine commanded attention with his complex riffs, solos, and snot-spitting vokills. Nice lyrics, too. The bass work by David Ellefson gives a nice kick in the arse to the procedures throughout the album, finally sounding like it should with the remastering work.
Check out (in case you haven't yet!) the almost instrumental ''Wake up dead'', the ANTHEM title track, ''Devil's island'' and my favourite ''Good mourning/Black friday''.
