Let's face it. Throughout Megadeth's career, they were always a carbon copy of Metallica. Although both bands pretty much killed metal in the mid-late 80s, Metallica's last several attemps came out fairly good, while Megadeth's "Risk" still remains the only album Dave made thats worth your time. While most Megadeth fans yell "Sell out" to everything after Rust In Piece, I truly think they were sell outs to begin with.
Peace Sells has music videos? So did Rust in Peace?
Now on with Risk. Risk isnt your generic thrash metal album with 3 minute long guitar solos or Halford-clonage vocals. Risk incorporates influences from pop, techno, and modern rock. Megadeth makes an album different from their pretty much dull catalog and got bashed for it. How many times do we have to hear Holy War carbon copies?
For those into long, endless guitar solos, look elsewhere.
For those who know what metal is all about, and understand that mixing different styles and experimenting is good, then this album is for you.
