Free Music Notes for Rust in PeaceFree Music Review: My favorite metal album Hit: 5 Stars
This album is phenomenal.. MegaDeth's rust in peace is their highest point, a true thrash/speed metal classic
1 - Holy Wars -10/10- The third Deth song i heard, its simply amazing.. probably one of my favorite songs of all time, the climatic ending is great (and Daves guitar solo is awesome) a true 10/10 song
2 - Hangar 18 -10/10- The slowest tempo song on the album, but still a classic megadeth tune, theres like 11 guitar solos, too.. its great
3 - Take no prisoners -10/10- three of my favorite metal songs in a row.. this is a great song, too. yes, the remaster has redone vocals, but they arent that bad, its not like daves voice has really changed
4 - Five Magics -9/10- a solid song, intro is a bit long though
5 - Poison was the cure -9/10-a fast, brutal thrash song
6 - Lucretia -9/10- cool rhythm.. not much to say about it
7 - Tornado of Souls -10/10- great song
8 - Dawn Patrol -NA/10- Basically a bass solo (with lyrics, though) and interlude to the next song, still good though. i dont see why people dont like it, helps even the flow to the end of the album
9 - Rust in Peace.. Polaris -10/10- its a great closer to the album
EXTRA TRACKS:
10:My Creation - Its cool to have a new song, but its nothing special, 6/10
11:Rust in Peace - Just a demo with different vocals
12: Holy Wars: 10/10 - Wow, rust in peace probably has the best demos just because of the last 2 tracks.. this one features chris poland on guitar, the balance is a bit off, but it sounds faster, (Dave says it is in the booklet, too, but probably sounds that way because of weak production) more natural sounding, still almost as good as the original
13: Take no Prisoners - 10/10 - Better than the original on the cd? sort of.. for those who complained about new vocals, this one has older ones (not the original though) and has a more natural, reverbed tone, and chris on guitar again
I recommend this to any fan of Metal, its an amazing album
Free Music Review: Megadeth's Best Album EVER!! Hit: 5 Stars
Not a single word can describe how much I enjoy listening to Megadeth. I have all of their albums(except for Risk which is their worst album to date), but none of them can come close to 1990's "Rust In Peace". This is without a shadow of a doubt the band's all time best album ever. This is also the first Megadeth album to introduce guitarist Marty Friedman(who really kicks ass on here) and drummer Nick Menza. On this album you've got awesome vocals from Dave Mustaine, lightning fast riffs, and eye popping solos from him and Marty(who I mentioned earlier), great hearable bass lines from David Ellefson, and in your face drumming from Nick(who I also mentioned earlier). The opening classic "Holy Wars...The Punishment Due" will have you headbanging to this speed metal classic in no time. In fact every song on here will have you banging your head and raising the horns throughout, but the BEST song on this album is none other than the classic "Hangar 18". I really like when Dave and Marty trade off a barrage of blazing guitar solos after every drum interlude on that song, and I actually learned from many reveiwers that there were 11 solos on that song. WOW, UNBELIVABLE! Please read on for my song ratings(please note that the ratings apply to the older version of this CD that I own)
themetalbeast's song ratings:
1.Holy Wars...The Punishment Due - Love the opening riffs. 5/5
2.Hangar 18 - 11 f**kin solos, BEST SONG EVER - 10/5
3.Take No Prisoners - 5/5
4.Five Magics - 5/5
5.Poison Was The Cure - 5/5
6.Lucretia - 5/5
7.Tornado Of Souls - 5/5
8.Dawn Patrol - 5/5
9.Rust In Peace...Polaris - Classic album closer, very intense. 5/5
See every song on here gets a 5 out of 5.
Grade: A+ all the way.
Well there you have it, overall an absolute must have for any fan of Megadeth, thrash/speed or metal fan in general. If you don't have, then you are totally missing out on some great music, buy this classic gem now. I gurantee you'll love it.
MEGADETH RULES!!
TAKE NO PRISONERS!!
TAKE NO S***!!
Free Music Review: Friedman is a god Hit: 5 Stars
On Rust in Peace, Megadeth had another new line up. It showed new drummer Nick Menza, and new lead guitar "Virtuoso", Marty Friedman. The oringinal was a great album, the remaster is geat too. The new vocals from Mustaine dont bother me that much so i thinks its still great. Plus you get to hear demos of songs with Chris Poland, which sound awesome.
1.) Holy Wars...The Punishment Due-This track is why megadeth are speed metal gods. Great solos, and good drumming. The lyrics fit the song nicely too. 10/10
2.) Hangar 18-Awesome song. Goes into the whole stuff with area 51. Plus it shows Friedman/Mustaine doing trade back solos. Also shows some wierd but cool sounding scales from Friedman. 10/10
3.) Take No Prisoners-Another all out thrash song. So sick. The tempo is so fast on it, good closing solo by Friedman. 10/10
4.) 5 Magics-Has a long intro. This is the only song i dont like how Mustaine sings it. Its still a good song but his voice sounds pretty bad. 8/10
5.) Poison was the Cure-A shorter song but still good. I dont know what he says some of the times but the riff, and solos make up for it. 9/10
6.) Lucretia-Another cool song. Great solos at the end of the song. Plus the opening riff sounds awesome. 9/10
7.) Tornado of Souls-I think his voice sounds really wierd on this song. But its a cool wierd. This is like 1 of the few songs with a chorus, and i love this song. the lyrics, the solo, the rhythym sounds sick too. 10/10
8.) Dawn Patrol-I never listen to it. Its just a singer, drums, and a bassist. If your a bassist you might like it. 4/10
9.) Rust in Peace-Awesome drum intro. Then the guitars pick up, and it sounds really cool. The vocals sound good on it too. 9/10
Well thats it. The bonus tracks are cool because Chris Polands on them. In my opinion Dave Mustaine sounds better in the demos, except on the Rust in Peace demo. He still sounds good but, you know.
Free Music Review: Long hair, tight jeans , tons of chicks, and speed metal at its finest, Rust In Peace, baby Hit: 5 Stars
I don't know if words describe the genius of this release, but I'll try anyway. THIS IS THE BEST THRASH/SPEED METAL ALBUM IN EXISTANCE!! Yes, that's a bold statement, but its true. Forget about Master of Puppets, that's not even the best Metallica album(Ride the Lightning is better). Reign in Blood is awesome, but those solos don't even come near the ones on here. Let's not even talk about Lamb of God or BLS. This is the possibly the best album ever, but definitely the best since Stained Class.
1. Holy Wars/The Punishment Due 10/10 The strong opener that goes from the Crusades to the Punisher with amazing solos from Friedman and Mustaine including a mellodic acoustic interlude.
2. Hangar 18 25/10 BEST SONG EVER! Solo after Solo. Unbelievable
3. Take No Prisoners 10/10 short but sweet.
4. Five Magics 10/10 Solos. I like the lyrics
5. Poison was the Cure 10/10 nothing special compared everything else, it just rocks unmercifully that's all.
6. Lucretia 10/10 sort of weird, but the solos.
7. Tornado of Souls 10/10 I hated this song the first time I heard it, but now it is one of my favorite songs. Friedman does an unbelievable solo.
8. Dawn Patrol 5/10 a good bass intro to Rust in Peace, but the voiceover is obnoxious.
9. Rust in Peace... Polaris 10/10 a fitting way to end the album, just rocks.
Megadeth in my oppinion is the best thrash band and American metal band. Dave Mustaine is the single best thrash songwriter and is equal to Kirk Hammett in guitar playing. That being said Marty Friedman is better than both of them, which is why Megadeth is better; Mustaine and Friedman are better than Hetfield and Hammett. If you don't like Megadeth than you really don't appreciate Metallica either. Why are you still reading get this now.
Free Music Review: great metal album, remaster sounds great Hit: 5 Stars
one of the fastest metal albums in existence, this album comes at you at about 150 mph and never slows down until dawn patrol.
Holy Wars: 10/10- classic opening guitar riff, starts charging and cant stop. great lyrics, and a wonderfully constructed headbanger
Hangar 18: 8/10- slows down the tempo just about a half notch, but the cheesy lyrics really bring the song down. otherwise, good guitar riffs.
Take No Prisoners: 9/10- some of the verses get irritating, but the chorus really brings it all together: TAKE NO PRISONERS... TAKE NO SH*T!! great drumming
Five Magics: 10/10- not a huge fan of the slow opening, but once the song gets going it really picks up and becomes one of the best songs on the album. i just wish the "give me sorcery..electricity" verse was repeated again in the song, cause it really sounds cool, but what can ya do
Poison Was the Cure: 9/10- one of the fastest songs on the album, suffers from the lack of a main hook. great song though
Lucretia: 10/10- slower guitar riffs, but the vocals have a definate groove to it, making it more appealing. great song
Tornado of Souls: 10/10- another song with a groove to it, a bit repetitive but it doesnt really hurt the song any.
Dawn Patrol: ???- i dont realy view this as a song, i wont average into the reviews cuz this doesnt make any sense.
Rust In Peace...Polaris: 11/10- my favorite song on the album, very very underrated. great drum opening and great lyrics.
original tracks: 68/80 B+
Bonus Tracks: i dont really care for My Creation much, the demos are pretty cool tho! 8/10
