Free Music Notes for The System Has Failed

Free Music Review: yeah!!
Hit: 5 Stars

another masterpiece !this album just briliant
dave proof he still able to do something killer
this record if not better then countdown to extinction it is at least much much better thenb the last 2 albums!
TWNAH is just nothing compare to this one
blackmail the universe and kick the chair sounds completly like rust in peace style
the 2nd track is the single which has another great singing by dave , another song with great singing is scorpion!!
tears in a vial is my fav tune! absolutely great singing, lyrics, melodic riff , solo by dave and chris and speed outro!
back in the day is my 2nd fave tune. it sounds just like NWOBHM , great riff with sing along outro
something i'm not is probably has the most interesting riff in the albu. it start with a simple riff then gets heavier on the bridge and chorus and finally turn into mustaine typical fingering riff in during the fast solos, and there's another cool riff at the outro. briliant
truth be told is typical megadeth old school type of songs
start heavy then melodic singing with aqoustic at the verse and goes heavy on the chorus, it get heavier after the second chorus and finally thrash at the last one and half minutes.
of mice and man is another good song with great lyrics and melodic singing
shadow of deth is great song with very melodic guitar harmony
and followed with my kingdom which probably the weakest track on the album but still sounds awesome

there's no weak track like burning bridge, silent scorn, losing my sense, when of those type of filler track like on TWNAH
defenitely must buy!!!

Free Music Review: The album the metal world has been in need of.
Hit: 5 Stars

This album is great. I loved it from the first time I put it in the CD player, and after having it for 2 days, I've listened to it probably 10 times through. I haven't been a Megadeth fan from back in the day, in fact, until the reissues of all their CDs, I only owned Countdown. But now I have them all but Risk. And this album by far kicks ass. It's no Peace Sells or Rust in Peace, but it is definatly up there. It is the best mixture of old school Megadeth and new school. There is one thing I want to clarify though, somebody who reviewed the album above said that the song I Know Jack was about JFK, when in turn, it was about his son Jack Kennedy. It's just a quick 4 line spoken lyric, that if I remember correctly, was actually said to someone, so I believe it's a soundbite as opposed to a lyric. And at that, it's hardly audible over the music.

The songs that have really grown on me to be my favourites on the album are:"The Scorpion", at first I wasn't to fond of this song, but the more I listened to it, the more I like it, it's the one that seems to keep getting stuck in my head. "Back in The Day", I just love this song, it's awesome IMO, that's all I can really say about that song. "Kick the Chair", it's another awesome song, the main riff is just awesome, the chorus is crushing, and the lyrics are cool too. And last "Blackmail the Universe", this song is just striaght up crushing metal. I feel the soundbites in this song add a whole bunch to the song, sets a feeling for you to have through out the song. All in all, this album is just really really great, although not their best, but still great.

Free Music Review: Never realised how intense and such legends in the making they are... Unitil Now...
Hit: 5 Stars

When Dave was struck down with his illness, it broke my heart to hear that the band had called it a day. Megadeth has had some of, if not, metals greatest ever musicians. Being a guitarist, guitar tech and guitar teacher I have heard almost all of metals guitarists and their albums they feature on... Sorry Slipknot, and pretty much most of todays new metal but you guys really don't know how to play guitar. Marty Friedman is probably one of the most exquisite guitarist's on this planet. The man can strike more notes in a second than Metallica has on all of their albums put together. I am a big fan of Hetfield, his music is great, but his lyrics have little meaning. Dave Mustaine however holds the crown to song writing. So when I heard this album for the first time driving back from work, I almost crashed my car due to the shear shock and awe to the way this album sounded. 5 stars is simply not enough. A TRUE musician is Dave Mustaine, Marty Friedman, Phil Collen (Def Leppard), James Hetfield, (Metallica) etc, etc. How can a METAL band as good as Megadeth write and record an awesome album and still sound like real musicians, and a band like Slipknot write and record an album that sounds like a couple of 2 year old kiddies banging on some trash cans wearing mummy's makeup and basically don't sound like musicians. Well this is by far the best metal album I've heard in years and years and years... And who would have thought that it would be Megadeth that would be the kings of the metal hill in 2005!!! Not I.... Dave, its an imense achivement you should be damn proud Mr... Buy it and listen to it, Deth Is King, and the King is far from dead...

Free Music Review: Better As They Go
Hit: 5 Stars

I believe [and screw you to all the old-style metal heads] that this band keeps getting better. I have seven of their CDs, as well as I have also heard the rest of them except for the Hidden Treasures EP that was a selection of sound track songs. Anyway, I know what I'm talking about, this band is one of my five favorite rock bands--and I listen to all the rock.

Now then, this album in paticular just plain has it. They got the guitars like they always do along with the great solos. But they are once again doing it with a new crew of misfits. These aren't the guys that put out Countdown anymore, or even those that were on the Cryptic record. No, these are some of the guys that took a Risk and took over the world and were the Hero.

Having said that, everyone that has been in Megadeth has held their own, and thus, they do the same. I say they've got better as they go, but this is no Rust. That was the shizzle, but this's got Blackmail and with it: [president] Bush-bashing. I even like Bush and I enjoy that [also check out Pearl Jam's release: Pearl Jam].

This band took aim at many things here, and I believe, at MetallicA, again. Where they may have done that here was in Die.

By the way, Another great song here is Of Mice And Men. Good music video for it, too. It is sort of a history lesson in Megadeth, so LISTEN TO IT FIRST IF YOU HAVE NEVER HEARD A MEGADETH SONG [another good example of this is their Youthanasia track Victory].

This ablum is fast-paced and in-your-face, so if you don't like it, you suck.

Free Music Review: Tied With Rust for my favorite Megadeth album
Hit: 5 Stars

Now to all you longtime fans, dont get mad at me. im not saying that this is better than Peace Sells or anything, but i personally love it. quite a glorious return to form for Megadeth

Blackmail the Universe: 10/10- good way to start off the album. gets you pumped

Die Dead Enough: 10/10- very very catchy, my favorite song on the album. wonderful chorus

Kick the Chair: 10/10 Reminiscient of old Megadeth, thrashy guitars, heaviest song on the album

The Scorpion: 10/10- good song with an obvious groove to it.

Tears in a Vial: 9/10- a bit softer than the other songs, but still good. heartfelt lyrics

I Know Jack: 5/5- spoken lyrics, but the guitar work is pretty good

Back in the Day: 10/10- faster song, mustaine brings back his trademark growl

Something That Im Not: 10/10- a bit repetitive at the end, but that doesnt stop it from being another great song

Truth Be Told: 10/10- also a bit repetitive but doesnt hurt it much

Of Mice and Men: 9/10- more of a strange song, but its still got a groove to it.

Shadow of Deth: 3/5- not a huge fan of this song, spoken lyrics and not great guitar work

My Kingdom: 10/10- darkest song on the album, great way to close it

Grade: 106/110 A+

The greatest modern metal album ive ever heard. i like it more than Peace Sells and Countdown, and it easily rivals Rust In Peace. Again, im not saying that its a better album, but i personally i enjoy it the most.
