Free Music Notes for The System Has FailedFree Music Review: Not Suitable for Morons Hit: 5 Stars
I rate this album a ten star album, an work without precedence a kick in the behive to all the numetal, avant garbage cynics out there pretending to know that some other GREATNESS out there is greater than the Deth and I am really tired of hearing 13 year olds bashing on this album, so Im gonna tell you like it is! Dave Mustaine is nothing short of a genius, so all you little angst ridden, cryptic writings loving fools out there please listen, this album is unlike any other megadeth album produced so far, Rust in peace was a masterpeice but was too short ,every album before RIP was ok but not great cause lets face it , Dave had problems, even he admits it, he went back and remixed em all for crying out loud!, countdown, youthanasia, cryptic writings , were all great experiments in prog rock that attest to the creative force that megadeth was, Risk was a great album (for those of you who listened once and tossed it), and the world needs a hero was simply a contractual obligation recorded much too quickly(even though it has its great moments), The system has failed is a smart, well written , sharp as a razorblade explosion, I actually felt bruised and slashed after listening to this album, the music felt like it hit me,and cut me. this album buries the ashes of what was once metallica and redefines thrash metal, mustaine rises out of the ashes of the mega-tallica saga as its triumphant yet humble father,as my favorite lyric on TSHF goes, "you didnt make the metal, the metal made you"
Free Music Review: The Resurrerection Hit: 5 Stars
In 2002 Megadeth disbanded because of Mustaine's injured arm and a lawsuit from Dave Ellefoson. Now Megadeth has resurrected and has saved all Metal! With Poland back on the scene megadeth produces an album that rivals CTE. The overall album is better than CTE. It does not have the amazing songs but is a more solid effort. Bringing back Poland is also like taking a time machine back to 1986, only there is no Metalica. Metalica is a good band but they put Megadeth "Behind the Wall of Sleep". Suely this album will finaly take Megadeth to the exalted position in Metal that it deserves.
The tracks include
Blackmail the Universe 10/10 nice start
Die Dead enough 10/10 Grows on you as you listen,
Knick the Chair 10/10 awesome riff and solo
The Scporpian 8/10 kind of wierd but still good
Tears in a vial 7/10 the only song on this album I don't like
I Know Jack 10/10 although short it is still one of the best
Back in the day 9/10 amazing song
Something I'm not 100/10 THE BEST SONG ON HERE
Truth be told 9/10 strong song
Of Mice and Men 10/10 awesome drums great song lyrics are OK
Shadow of Deth 10/10 short but sweet with awesome solo
My Kindom Come 9/10 good riff and interlude
I own Peace sells and CTE and am proud to have this album, If you like black Sabbath, Metalica, Nirvana, Led Zeplin or Slayer than you will love this album. The System may have failed but Megadeth has not!
Free Music Review: Truth Be Told - This Is a Classic! Hit: 5 Stars
Megadeth made some albums that didn't make some fans so happy: Youtanasia, Cryptic Writings, Risk, and The World Needs a Hero. This album is return to the roots. Most of the songs have been made during "Rust in Peace" and "Countdown to Extinction"...and it can be guessed. The riffs are so heavy that I think I would replace this before "Rust in Peace" in the age line. "Blackmail the Universe" and the single track "Die Dead Enough" start the album. I started to like really much of them both just lately. "Kick the Chair" is a fast track and critisize the system of USA: "Justice Means nothing today, Now That Jury's for Sale, Guilty or Not, The Verdict's a Lie, You're Going to Jail, The System Has Failed". "The Scorpion" is also a very heavy track. Great riffs! Mustaine knows the deal! "Tears in a Vial" is also an excellent song...it has a great chorus. "I Know Jack" is just a short track, not more than a minute. "Back in the Day" is a fast song telling about the heavy metal. "Something I'm Not" includes a riff from Led Zeppelin's "Immigant Song". It is a great song too. "Truth Be Told" and "Shadow of Deth" are religious songs that speak straightly. "Of Mice And Men" may sound weird at first but after some listening you probably find you like it. It has a great title at least. "My Kingdom" is the track I seldom listen to but it is good too...but all the tracks in this album are excellent.
Stars: Kick the Chair, Truth Be Told, Back in the Day
Free Music Review: Solid production, solid record!! Hit: 5 Stars
It was very nice to hear that Dave was releasing a new record under the MegadetH banner. Say what you will, the association of the name "MegadetH" will always create a different kind of excitement for any fan. Now having the "dubious"? distinction of being the only surviving original member of the band, Dave rises to the challenge and gives us the work that a true metal pioneer should. Now on to the Album.
ARTWORK: STUNNING!!! Mike Learn has done a splendid job. Absolutely love the whole inlay. 9.5/10
PRODUCTION: All songs have a crisp sound. Not extremely overproduced like CTE not really bad like KIMB. The riffs just gel...9/10
SONGS: Dave and Chris absolutely rip. The solos are out of this world (this can be credited to Chris's somewhat unusual style- quote Dave). Excellent choruses (check Die Dead Enough, Something I'm Not, and Truth Be Told) I find myself humming the chorus for Truth Be Told incessantly. Vocals are a class apart, best since CTE. The instrumental "I Know Jack" just blends perfectly with the rest of the record. Stand out tracks "BTU", "DDE", "Back in the Day", "Truth Be Told", "Something I'm not" and ofcourse "i Know Jack"
9.5/10
UPSIDE: Satisfies everyone, irrespective of the stream of metal they like. Unforgettable riffing.
FLIPSIDE: Could have been a little less commercial "Tears in a Vial". Last MegadetH record :((
Over all a great great record. Get it....you won't regret.
Free Music Review: A Metal Masterpiece for the New Millenium!!! Hit: 5 Stars
Dave Mustaine is back, proving once and for all that he is the metal king! The System Has Failed is a modern masterpiece of epic proportions. Complex riffs, shredding solos, zany jazz inspired drums, and the most furious lyrics penned since Rust In Peace. And let's not forget the superior songcraft! Each song on this album is unique and has a style of its own. There are thrashers (Kick the Chair/Blackmail the Universe), hard rockers (Die Dead Enough/The Scorpion/Of Mice and Men), epics (Truth Be Told/Back In the Day), and even cool mucial interludes with spoken word segments (I Know Jack/Shadow of Death). There is literally, something for every hard rock/metal fan. TSHF is a perfect mix of metal bliss. Dave's riffs haven't sounded this fresh in years! This is the album Mustaine has been trying to write since Countdown to Extinction. Not that the albums since then have been bad (Cryptic Writings was great for example), but they are less than perfect and are sometimes muddled by goofy/silly lyrics and melodies. I need not even mention Risk.... Megadeth has reclaimed their place at the top of the hard music scene...The System Has Failed will go down in history as one of the absolute Megadeth classics, proudly taking its place next to Peace Sells...But Who's Buying, Rust In Peace, Killing Is My Business, and Countdown to Extinction. No self respecting metalhead can go without this. Do yourself a favour and buy this thing NOW!!!
