Free Music Notes for The System Has Failed

Free Music Review: Awesome!!! saw em
Hit: 5 Stars

I love Megadeth i saw them in concert with some band called Exodus. Megadeth was better and they rocked so hard my chest was vibrating!!! They played 3 or 4 songs of this album. I was pissed that they didnt play Blackmail the Universe!!! Even after the tour's name is Blackmail the Universe Tour. Well this cd is good all the tracks are awesome except for 11 that's a little retarded in the beginning. Oh, and if you didn't already know Dave (Mustaine) told the crowd that he's moving back to California after the tour ends. We were pissed because well he lives in Arizona and we want to live with him(in the same state) so every one was pissed at that. anyway's go and get this cd it's true metal! Not sum crappy Limp Bizsh*t like that one loser kid who posted that review said. And hey kid if your reading this then listen up, Megadeth is older than limp dipsh*t ok faggetty a** so they came up with metal first! Not sum stupid nu-metal rap crap stuff, and i hope that that kid goes to hell!!! enjoy the cd!!! hey im sorry about bein rude its just that i cant take someone makin fun of a band i love! and i cant stand anyone makin fun of me and callin me a retard so that person who did call me a retard iam a true fan you a-hole i went to one of their concerts!!! duh jackass!!! and you should feel lucky that you didnt put your real name or address on that review because sumthin really bad would of happened if you did!!!

Free Music Review: Return of the King...King of Metal, that is!
Hit: 5 Stars

The System Has Failed has got to be the best thrash metal album that I have heard in a long long time. The reasons are simple:

1. The lyrics are intelligent and relevant
2. The guitar playing is beyond belief. Did Dave Mustaine really hurt his arm? Man, if that true, it is indeed a miracle that he can play as well as he did on this album. The riffs are insanely fast on songs like Blackmail The Universe and Kick the Chair.
3. The singing is amazing. I LOVE Dave Mustaine's sneering angry vocals. He is pissed at the government, at his broken relationships, at his past. He does not compromise and does not make any apologies about it! Talk about being "Angry Again". GRRRR!
4. Diversity. While some songs are pure speed metal thrash, there are songs that focus more on being melodic, and inventive such as the radio friendly "Die Dead Enough" and "The Scorpion". These songs are great and so listenable, that I CANNOT STOP singing them again and again! Dare I say that Dave Mustaine is thrash's version of John Lennon/Paul McCartney? Such a gifted writer. Think pop genius from the bowels of hell, if you will.

THANK YOU Dave Mustaine for this album. The System has INDEED failed, but you DID NOT. You have delivered the goods and have cemented your place in the Mount Olympus of Metal! Kill the King, the king is DEAD, LONG LIVE THE KING! Metal is ALIVE and Well!!!!

Free Music Review: Their best in 19 years, since peace sells..album of the year
Hit: 5 Stars

I love megadeth, second favorite band of all time. Althought I miss junior, i can live without him. Dave Mustaine is and always has been Megadeth. No question about it.

Thought not a return to form of their early thrash metal days, there are several thrash songs on here. The other songs? Think typical 90's megadeth but on steriods. The songs are heavy heavy heavy and the riffs are their best in years. and the solos? Awesome Awesome Awesome Awesome. This cd has at least 30 guitar solos on it, mustaine does most of them and he plays all the rythm guitar parts. He is a guitar legend and this cd further proves that.

Blackmail The Universe, Kick The Chair, Truth Be Told, My Kingdom are all thrashy. Back In The Day, Something I'm Not both contain thrashy parts as well. Die Dead Enough, The Scorpion, Tears In A Vial, Of Mice And Men are more aken to post rust in piece megadeth except with more guitar solos, better arrangements, and meatier riffs and better lyrics. I Know Jack and Shadow Of Deth are just stupid short thoraway songs, much in the vein of doom patrol and poision was the cure from rust in peace...just stupid filler tracks.

All in all, just read the titile of my review for all you need to know. I could review each individual track (and i might later) but that would take a awhile, they are so good.

UP THE IRONS! \m/

Free Music Review: Listen In Peace
Hit: 5 Stars

I believe people tend to get stuck in time. Rust In Peace was in 1991, its now 2006! Everything from production values to issues [personal/emotional/political] change with time. And 15 years is a long time ago.
Its definitely not Rust In Peace. They aren't comparable simply because they aren't relevant to each other.
What we must compare though, is has the artist lived up to his potential? And the answer is YES. Dave has delivered on this one after 3 disasters.
There comes a time in every individual's life where things need to change. Change is the only constant. If every album sounded like RIP, then it wouldn't be so special.
To put things in perspective, would you say Slayer's God Hates Us All is not the same as South Of Heaven, therefore it is a bad/OK album? See where each of these guys are coming from- COC had America's Volume Dealer before In The Arm's Of God, Soulfly had 3 before Dark Ages, Slayer had Undisputed Attitude before God Hates Us All and Megadeth had A World Needs A Hero before The System Has Failed. Whats important is where they are going rather than where they've been.
One cannot define metal as genere just by limiting it to a particular set of chords or a certain tempo or even the subject of the song.
Having said that, not everything is acceptable in the name of experimenting/evolving [I hope a certain Mr.Hetfield gets this]

Free Music Review: Deth by dueling guitars.
Hit: 5 Stars

The reviewers giving this album one star are probably still hanging of Metallicas ball sack. This is one of the better albums of 2004. The System Has Failed catched Dave Mustaine and almost his peak. Chris Poland is back in the mix and he add his werido virtuoso guitar style along with Daves well known riffage and you have an album with solos out the wazoo. The System Has Failed should not be compared to Rust In Peace, because when you hold 99% of all metal albums to that standard you will NEVER satisfy your desire. Evreything falls victim to Rust In Peace. Take this album as one of the greatest comebacks in musical history. Dave hits all cylinders with this release. I give it a 9.5/10. The only complaint I have is with the songs I Know Jack which should have been a full instrumental, and Shadow Of Deth also should have been longer. Other then that this is a flawless piece of art. The album cover is fabulous aswell. The two reviewers who gave this album one star are obviously from the Metallisheep clan. To say that Dave should fall asleep on his arm his just plain retarded which shows how mature you are. The man has a wife and kids to support, way to wish ill on someones life you never met. You are an utter dumbass. The System Has Failed will grow on you very much. Its one of the better releases of the year along with Ayreon and Tesla.
