Free Music Review: Eclectic mix from a damn fine singer!

This is an amazing album in my opinion, exploring almost every genre of music. It goes from Bathroom Window, a kind of electric and 'pop-y' track, through to the Tennessee-style 'My Dear Companion' to the beautifully heartfelt 'Take it with me' which finishes it off. My favourite, though, is Ode to Billie Joe. I love how it's changed from the original, you can just imagine yourself in a smoky bar somewhere. And she gives such emotion and power to Danny Boy, it totally changes its meaning for me, from a ballad lamenting lost love to a song proclaiming the triumph of love over death. "I shall HEAR, though soft you tread above me', I will hear you and death won't stop me.
I'm trying to understand why so far 4 or 5 people of the now 50 something who have reviewed this CD on Amazon didn't like it. I guess it has absolutely no pattern what so ever, and maybe some people don't like that. But for me, that's part of what I loved about it, it's unpredictable and has a bit of everything. And there was a comment about Megan's vocals being unpolished. Well, I guess this is just a difference of opinion, to me her vocals sounded raw, real and beautiful.
Overall, an incredible CD that I would say is a must-have.

Megan Mullally and the Supreme Music Group are amazing. They draw from numerous musical genre's and do an wonderful job. Mullally's voice is simply flawless and will blow you away. This CD is amazing! It is a wide variety of music that really shows off Megan Mullally's talents. Her voice is just stunning, and the songs really stuck with me. This CD is definately for people who like music that displays emotion and it's very theatrical. And no, it's not "Karen Walker Sings the Hits"!!!
I like the wide variety of styles....from Broadway style to Country to Irish Folk. I really recommend it!!
....besides, how could you not like anything she does....she's so fantastic!!

Megan Mullally is so talented! I cannot stress enough how wonderful "Big as a Berry" is. This is not the "Karen Walker" CD, it's the very gifted and talented Megan Mullally, who has a truly wonderful voice. She sings the songs the way she wants to and that is what makes this a must have CD. It's a little different and that is what makes this unique. She can sing and she captures your attention. This is the best CD that I have purchased in years and I highly recommend it to anyone who wants to hear great songs from a very gifted person. Free Music Review: PLEASE ADD AUDIO Samples

Okay, so I haven't listened to this cd. But I'd like to. Why is it always the most intriguing cds that cdnow doesn't have auido samples for? I simply NEVER buy a cd without at least hearing samples. But I would love to check this one out, because I am a big fan of Megan Mullally. I think her charachter, Karen Walker, is one of the most ingeniously hilarious charachters on Tv. And the idea that she (whom most of us asociate with an exteremly nasal voice) is a wonderful singer, is intriguing. I want to check this CD out. PLEASE ADD AUDIO SAMPLES
