This original recording of "I can only imagine" far exceeds what has followed. There is such depth of feeling in the song. It is why I chose this album rather than some of the newer ones. Other songs on the CD are a pleasure however, "I can only imagine" puts you right in Heaven before God and wondering, "What will I do?"Free Music Review: Strongest debut in years

Rarely do you come across a band that puts out an album as strong as "Almost There". When you throw in the fact that it's their first album you have to take notice. Every track on this album is great but highlights include:
--I Worship You "I just want to dive into your grace, feel your presence on my face. I just want to be where you are" As you can see there are some strong lyrics that don't hold back in the love and passion department.
--Here Am I speaks about being a witness for Christ where you are. The fact is there are lost people all around you and you may be the only person in their life that ever takes the time to speak to them about Christ. This is the main message of the song. A side note is that this song kind of goes along with the ministry they helped start called The Go Foundation which helps match people that feel led to go on a short/long term mission trip with a trip that's being planned.
--On My Way To Meet You speaks of life on earth as our life on earth is a journey while we're "On My Way To Meet You" (with You being Christ).
--How Great Is Your Love is a out right worship song true to their nature as Mercy Me is a self describe praise and worship band.
--I Can Only Imagine is by far the most popular song on this cd and probably over all as well. This song speaks openly wonders what it will be like when we meet Christ himself.

This CD by MercyMe is a very pleasant sounding collection solid Christian lyrics.
There is one absolute standout song on here which is 'I Can Only Imagine'. That song alone makes the CD well worth the price. There are some other good tracks as well. I also really like 'I Worship You'.
'I Can Only Imagine' is powerful at stimulating thoughts of what it will be like to be in Jesus' presence. It has incredibly moving lyrics and a great sound.
