Going Where the Lonely Go,I wouln't even attempt to count the many times I've spun this record when it was first released.I may have worn it out.So,I recently bought this cd,in which also includes another Epic album Thats the Way Love Goes,not a great Merle Haggard record but seems to blend in well enough with WHERE THE LONELY GO.Good reason's why I purchased this cd,number one this is Haggards best on Epic,also remastered,number two,Going Where the Lonely Go has a certain,distinctive sound that only Merle can project,an image of the man himself.Listen to the lyrics of the title song,or Why Am I Drinkin',Wont Give Up My Train,my favorite Haggard composition on here,Take me for Granted,a classic Haggard ballad.Thats the Way Love Goes,a classic Lefty Frizzell standard,the title of this second Epic release is also the best tune,along with(the rest of my life.)and Someday When Things Are Good.These recordings are a far cry from the early Capitol,Bakersfield sound of the Hag,however still maintain all the powerful elements,Roy Nichols lead guitar,Norm Hamlets' steel,the voice that project's,the one and only Merle Haggard.keep it rollin' Merle.
