Free Music Notes for Living Out Loud: Original Soundtrack RecordingFree Music Review: Brilliant music from an excellent film Hit: 5 Stars
Buy this CD..even without seeing the film, which would be your loss...Buy this CD...I read about the process by which the film was made and the music was literally playing DURING the making of the film on the set...not tacked on later or simply scored. The synergy of music and image is remarkable for the emotional interplay it sets up. Brilliant. Queen Latifah is outstanding. A remarkable talent. But why Clark Anderson is not a HUGE star just mystifies me. Incredible voice..he even wrote the song...AND he is a handsome guy too! He can even ACT. Where is he? Devito is certainly capable and does a nice job with his song but the other tunes on the disc are worth double the price. Buy this CD...It is in my top ten all time...and I have several thousand CD's...Strong enough review for you?
Free Music Review: Terrific album! Hit: 5 Stars
After seeing the movie I too couldn't wait to buy the CD. I wasn't disappointed. It holds up after listening to it over and over again. I especially love the one song that was written for the film, "Give Me Something Real", sung and co-written by Clark Anderson. We need to hear more from this extremely talented man. "If You Love Me" by Brownstone, though not new, fits in beautifully with the mix of this album, which overall holds together amazingly well for such an eclectic pastiche of different styles. Kudos to Director and album producer Richard LaGravenese and original score composer George Fenton for an exceptionally fine soundtrack.
Free Music Review: Fabulous! Hit: 5 Stars
I LOVED the movie Living Out Loud (and bought the DVD), and the soundtrack is incredible. Queen Latifah needs to do a complete jazz album because her voice is rich, sultry, and a joy to listen to. Her voice is absolutely intoxicating, especially on her renditions of "Lush life" and "Going Out of My Head." Other great tunes include the wonderful "Give Me Something Real" and "If You Love Me", which is played duting my favorite scene in the movie (the choreographed dance at the Confessional). BUY THIS CD NOW! You WON'T REGRET IT!!!!!!
Free Music Review: My new favorite CD!! Hit: 5 Stars
I don't usually buy soundtracks, but I am so glad that I bought this one. I have played it over and over and have not tired of it. I have a new respect for Queen Latifah...I hope she does more recordings in this genre. The cuts by Clark Anderson and Brownstone are wonderful. "If You Love Me" by Brownstone is one of the sexiest songs I've ever heard. Of course, being a 60's child, the Sly and the Family Stone cut brings back great memories. This is the pefect CD for driving.. or at home romancing!
Free Music Review: Listen Out Loud! Hit: 5 Stars
Rented this movie a couple of years ago and just fell in love with it. The soundtrack just grabbed me, and especially Queen Latifah's renditions of Lush Life and most particularly, Going Out of My Head. I normally wouldn't give a soundtrack a second thought, but this was so delicious. The Queen is simply wonderful. I've never listened to her do rap (and won't). She needs to do some jazz and R&B in the same mold. She's got such a rich, lush voice! I highly recommend this collection of songs.
