I never buy soundtracks but from the moment the movie started I was hooked on the music and knew the soundtrack was my next cd purchase. I went straight for the cd rack and ravaged through finding the last copy. Great mood, jazz sounds, and lush lyrics. I saw the movie, and knew immediately that I had to have the soundtrack. I hope Queen Latifah knows how many more fans she has now. She should definitely spread her wings like this again, because I thoroughly enjoyed her voice in this soundtrack. Don't be shortsighted, this lady can sing better than most of her contemporaries. She is better known as a rapper and hip-hop artist and as an actress. But I was pleasently suprised when I saw her performance in the movie "Living Out Loud". This soundtrack was in exceptional synch to the content of a surprisingly complex movie. The quality of Queen Latifah's styling was exceptional; she is a terrific actress as well as a versatile singer. The "Lush Life" cut is as good a rendition as I've ever heard, and every selection is worth a listen, even Danny DeVito's !
